From Sacramento to Torino! 🇮🇹✨

Three of our Sacramento Dames recently went on a delicious Italian adventure to experience Terra Madre Salone del Gusto in Torino—one of the world’s most inspiring gatherings celebrating food, culture, sustainability, and the people behind it all.

Dame Bobbin Mulvaney, Dame Gerine Williams of the Food Literacy Center, and Dame Andrea Hagan Thompson, Associate Program Director at the UC Davis Agricultural Sustainability Institute, were among the lucky attendees, joining many familiar faces from Sacramento’s incredible food and agricultural community who made their way to Italy for this very special event.

What an amazing opportunity to connect with food leaders, farmers, chefs, educators, and changemakers from around the world, discover new flavors and traditions, and celebrate the importance of sustainable food systems and the communities behind them.

We love seeing our Dames out in the world—learning, connecting, tasting, and representing our Sacramento region along the way. 🇮🇹🍅🍷

What an adventure, Dames! We can’t wait to hear all the stories from Torino.

Celebrating 50 Years of the Davis Farmers Market!
Join us for a special afternoon with Georgeanne Brennan and Ann M. Evans, authors of Market Memories: The Davis Farmers Market Cookbook, as we celebrate five decades of one of Northern California’s most beloved food institutions.
For 50 years, the Davis Farmers Market has brought together farmers, cooks, neighbors, and generations of market-goers.

Market Memories captures that incredible legacy through recipes, stories, and the fresh, seasonal ingredients that have helped shape our region’s farm-to-table culture.
Georgeanne Brennan, James Beard Award-winning cookbook author and food writer, and Ann M. Evans, co-founder of the Davis Farmers Market and former mayor of Davis, will share stories about the market’s history, the creation of the cookbook, and 50 years of local food and community.

📅 Sunday, October 4, 2026
⏰ 3:00–5:00 PM
📍 East Village Bookstore – Midtown
2500 J St., Sacramento

The afternoon will include a presentation and conversation, audience Q&A, book signing, followed by a w**e and sparkling water reception.
We hope you’ll join us in celebrating the people, food, and stories behind this remarkable Sacramento-region institution.

A beautiful afternoon of w**e, conversation, and connection!

Our Les Dames d’Escoffier Sacramento members gathered for a lovely Apéro Party at Bogle Family Vineyards this past Tuesday, September 22.

There’s something special about taking time to slow down, raise a glass, catch up, and enjoy the company of fellow Dames especially surrounded by the beautiful vineyards at Bogle.

Dames Jody Bogle, Janet McDonald, Jami Babcock, Jennifer Kaye, Lane Giguire, Marybeth Bizjak, Lisa Frank, and Elise Bauer haf a wonderful afternoon together.

Great w**e, great company, and the kind of connections that make our Sacramento chapter so special. Cheers!
