The Union of over 10,000 Teaching Associates, Graduate Assistants, Tutors, and Graders across all 23 CSU campuses Together, we have the power to create change.

UAW Local 4123 is the Union representing over 10,000 Academic Student Employees (ASEs) -- Teaching Associates, Graduate Assistants, and Instructional Student Assistants -- at the 23 campuses of the California State University. As a union of workers at the CSU we are concerned with issues of wages, benefits, workload, grievance procedures, and fair hiring processes. Because our voices are stronger

in unison than on their own, Local 4123 gives us the ability to bargain more effectively with CSU on these and other issues, allowing us to have a real say in our lives as student employees. We are also currently working to address funding issues at CSU, and those fee-hikes which have resulted from them. UAW Local 4123 is successful because of the participation of its members. The support of our fellow workers took last week’s CSU strike from good to GREAT. 💪💪 Our sister Unions at the CSU (California Faculty Association, CSU Employees Union - CSUEU, APC, UAW Local 4123) walked the strike lines with us at campuses across the state. We shut down multiple CSU construction sites thanks to the solidarity of trades and construction Unions. And our fellow Teamsters locals helped us organize picket lines, feed strikers, and shut down operations across the system by stopping deliveries from UPS, Sysco, Recology, and other workplaces. Our Union siblings stood with us and we will ALWAYS stand with them.

When you mess with one union, you mess with a whole movement. And we’re only getting stronger. ✊

We kicked off the Summer of Solidarity at the CSU Board of Trustees meeting, with CSU Employees Union - CSUEU, California Faculty Association, Teamsters Local 2010, and APC. ✊❤️
UAW 4123 members from all across the state came out to Long Beach, and addressed the CSU Trustees and Campus Presidents on our bargaining demands.
