We’re celebrating pork, people and some of the best carnitas across California, but we need your help filling the map! We’ve started with a few favorites, and now we want to hear from you.

From the neighborhood spot you swear by to the restaurant worth making a road trip for, we want them all. We’ll keep updating our Carnitas Crawl throughout October as your recommendations come in!

Thank you to Associated Feed & Sierra Nevada Farms for hosting some of our junior directors in the valley last week.

These juniors got the opportunity to step out of their comfort zones expanding their insight into different opportunities within the industry, the process of meeting customers feed needs, seeing how commercial producers market to different cultural customers and more!

This scholarship will be presented to a member in their senior year of high school or currently attending a higher education or trade school institution interested in pork production at the California Pork Producer’s Annual meeting in Modesto on November 7.

Registration open for the Pork Academy Field Day!

A hands on field day where attendees will participate in interactive sessions focused on pig health and care, biosecurity, pork cuts and understanding the product they raise, career opportunities, creating an educational display and communicating their own “why” as a industry advocate.

⏰: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
📍: Modesto High School
📌: $50.00 registration fee
✔: Attendees will be taking home educational information on pork cuts, a biosecurity bucket, swag and more!

William “Bill” Silveira was a visionary leader for the industry, known for pouring his heart and soul into making the California Pork Producers Association (CPPA) work for the state’s pork producers. His legacy lives on with a scholarship fund established to help cultivate future CPPA and agriculture industry leaders.
