Last month, CSHA members traveled to Washington, D.C., for ASHA’s Capitol Hill Day! They met with California legislators and their staff to advocate on issues affecting our patients, clients, students, and colleagues.

Thank you to our members who participated and helped bring our professions’ priorities to Capitol Hill!

Couldn’t attend? You can still make your voice heard at the state level during CSHA’s Advocacy Day in May. Stay tuned for more information!

Applications are now open for CSHA’s Maker’s Market at Convergence 2027! Are you a maker, artist, or small business owner who creates original products for the SLP and audiology community? We are looking for vendors offering jewelry, art, crafts, apparel, accessories, educational or profession themed resources, and other handmade or creative goods.

Selected vendors will have the opportunity to showcase their work to SLPs, SLPAs, audiologists, students, and other professionals from across California.
Applications are due Sunday, October 18, at 11:59 p.m. PT.

CSHA is accepting applications for a Networking Subcommittee Co-Lead on the Schools Committee!

This volunteer will help create meaningful connections and networking opportunities for those working and learning in school settings. Responsibilities include planning virtual and in person events, co-hosting Networking Subcommittee meetings, meeting quarterly with Schools Committee leadership, and assisting with th Convergence School-Based Mixer.

How are episodic care practices affecting children’s access to speech-language pathology services across California? Join the CSHA Advocacy Committee for an important virtual town hall exploring the impact of episodic care on children, families, and the professionals who serve them.

Attendees will learn more about the concerns being reported across the state, how these practices may create barriers to appropriate and consistent services, and the options available for responding through advocacy and formal complaint processes.

This conversation is open to those who want to better understand the issue, share their experiences, and learn how they can help advocate for meaningful change.

Join us for an engaging continuing education webinar focused on the evaluation and management of unilateral vocal fold paralysis with speaker, Sarah L. Schneider, MS, CCC-SLP, ASHA-F. This session will explore how comprehensive voice assessment, interpretation of laryngeal findings, and stimulability testing can guide clinical decision-making-from determining the role and timing of therapy to selecting individualized treatment approaches.

Through current evidence and real-world patient cases, participants will learn practical strategies for connecting clinical findings with patient goals and functional communication needs. This webinar will offer 1.5 CEUs.
