Every day brings a new reason to celebrate across our Eskaton communities. ☀️ Take a look at some of our favorite recent memories as we say good bye to summer and hello to fall! 🍂

🐐 Eskaton Village Roseville residents enjoyed an inspiring afternoon at the Garden Faire at Maidu Community Center, complete with expert gardening workshops and a special visit with grazing goats.

🌷 Residents and staff of Eskaton Village Grass Valley celebrated a joy-filled week with root b**r floats and flower deliveries for National Grandparents Day.

🦉 Eskaton Village Roseville residents enjoyed an exciting, up-close educational presentation with birds of prey and waterfowl thanks to a special visit from the non-profit Hawks Honkers & Hoots.

💆 In honor of National Assisted Living Week, massage therapist Joanne treated the hardworking Trousdale staff to relaxing chair massages as a token of appreciation for their daily dedication to residents.

🧽 Residents and team members of Eskaton Granite Bay joined forces at a spirited Car Wash and Craft Sale fundraiser to raise support and awareness for the Alzheimer's Association.

🍅 Eskaton residents tapped into their creativity during a vibrant tomato still-life painting session led by Artisan Mind, made possible by funding from the Eskaton Foundation.

🍭 Eskaton Gold River residents, families, and team members wrapped up the sunny season with an End of Summer Carnival filled with cotton candy, classic games, and balloon animals.

The annual Dog Parade at Eskaton Village Placerville was officially a 10/10 on the good-boy scale! Our residents and their furry besties took over the community for a morning stroll packed with tail wags, endless belly rubs, and so many smiles.

A huge, wagging thank-you to the Hangtown Kennel Club for bringing their awesome pups to join the fun and make the morning extra special! 🐕❤️

Fall Prevention Awareness Week is here, and we’re celebrating a milestone!

Since 2021, 147 residents have graduated from Fall Prevention University at Eskaton Village Roseville, and a brand new class is currently working hard toward graduation this fall! 🎓✨

Fitness & Wellness Director, Christy Barry launched this signature 8-week program to guide residents through interactive fitness modules designed to build physical strength, boost balance, and build everyday confidence with activities of daily living.

Thank you, Christy, for empowering residents to live safe, independent, and vibrant lives.

This National Assisted Living Week, we are proud to highlight a long-time member of our Eskaton family: Mira Dodds 💙 Mira has been a devoted Caregiver at Eskaton for 17 years! Over her nearly two decades of service between Eskaton Village Placerville and Eskaton Granite Bay, Mira has earned an extraordinary 20 Guardian Angel award recognitions from peers and residents.

Mira’s passion for caregiving started early in life when she cared for her grandparents. "I started at a young age helping my elders as they aged and realized it was my passion," explains Mira. "The most fulfilling aspect of caregiving is seeing the seniors smiling and the residents thanking me for helping them live a fulfilling life."

Mira fondly recalls a special connection from her time at Eskaton Village Placerville: "I met a resident while I worked in Placerville who was against being helped with anything. She allowed me to assist her, and from that point, she smiled at me and was always so thankful for my help. Her son was so appreciative of my help that he wrote an article for the local newspaper detailing his satisfaction and happiness with my service!"

For anyone considering a path in caregiving, Mira offers these wise words: "I would tell anybody who is interested in being a caregiver that this work needs to be a passion to you. It’s a lot of work; however, when you receive a smile from an appreciative resident, it makes it all worthwhile."

This National Assisted Living Week, we are proud to honor the incredible caregivers and staff who bring warmth, dedication, and exceptional care to our residents every single day. Today, we are shining a special spotlight on one of our very own: Lilian Manning, Shift Lead and Resident Medication Assistant at Eskaton Village Roseville for 27 years! 💙

Earlier this June, Lilian was recognized with the prestigious Outstanding Caregiver Award by the California Assisted Living Association (CALA) at their Elevate Spring Conference in Sacramento. This well-deserved honor recognizes individuals who consistently go above and beyond their job descriptions to uplift residents, support their peers, and lead with extraordinary strength.

Lilian truly embodies the heart of Eskaton. Whether she is bringing her absolute best to every shift, supporting her fellow team members, or raising the standard of care for our entire community, her passion shines through in everything she does.

🦮 Residents of Eskaton Village Placerville and their adorable four-legged friends showed off their style and shared plenty of smiles during the community's annual Dog Parade.

🍦 Eskaton Gold River residents took a behind-the-scenes VIP tour of Leatherby's Family Creamery to learn how the ice cream is made and, of course, enjoy some delicious taste testing!

🎨 Residents from Eskaton Village Roseville unleashed their creativity during a Bob Ross-inspired painting class, bringing the vibrant beauty of the Smoky Mountains to life on canvas.

🌙 Eskaton Village Grass Valley stayed up late for a night of starlight and fun, capping off a month of stargazing with a Lunar Eclipse Watch Party!

👑 Residents of the Trousdale enjoyed a royal day out exploring ancient history and golden artifacts during a visit to the de Young Museum's Treasures of the Pharaohs exhibit.

🪗 Eskaton Land Park celebrated Cultural Heritage Day with a global culinary tour featuring flavors from South Korea, Mexico, and Trinidad & Tobago, topped off with energetic live mariachi music from Los Reyes de Sacramento.

🍅 Residents of Eskaton Village Placerville enjoyed farm-fresh produce without the summer heat thanks to a convenient indoor Farmers Market held right inside the community.

🪏 The Men's Gardening Club at the Parkview teamed up with the groundskeeping crew to plant fresh flowers in the patio garden beds, adding some extra "flower power" to the community.

👟 Residents from Eskaton Village Roseville spent a fun afternoon exploring Downtown Roseville, taking in local murals, checking out local shops, and grabbing coffee on a scenic walking tour.

Welcome to the new community garden at Eskaton Jefferson Manor! This vibrant new space was made possible through the generosity of the Eskaton Foundation, providing our residents with a beautiful place to gather, grow, and thrive.

The afternoon was filled with smiles and shared stories as we celebrated with a ribbon cutting for what has already become a centerpiece of the community. As Nicole Zamora, Director of Fund Development at the Eskaton Foundation, shared after the celebration:

"This new garden is a wonderful reminder that meaningful spaces truly grow from generosity and community. It is now a welcoming place where residents can gather, connect, and enjoy moments of peace and belonging across languages, backgrounds, and experiences."

Whether it’s planting new seeds or simply enjoying a quiet moment in the fresh air, this garden is a testament to the power of community support. We are honored to see the immediate impact of this gift and look forward to watching this space (and the friendships within it) bloom for years to come.
