Meet Mychal Threets, TikTok's favorite Librarian and Reading Rainbow host, and get a signed copy of I'm So Happy You're Here at this interactive event with discussion partner Lydia Millyon hosted by Elk Grove's inclusive bookstore/cafe! 🌈 Tickets required; both in-person and virtual options are available with signed copies included!

Join us at the affirming, welcoming Elk Grove United Methodist Church for an all-ages storytime with Mychal and Lydia, an EGUSD graduate and picture book author, followed by an engaging conversation and Q&A. Children will be able to either stay with their grownups after the storytime or leave for supervised play with our Moms of Elk Grove volunteers in the church's Sunday School rooms. In addition, the church has a sensory room behind the sanctuary, where EG S.P.E.A.K.S. volunteers will host families who need a break in a supportive environment.
After the talk, get a digital and Instax photo with Mychal by prior reservation only. All proceeds from the photos will support Amanda's Mini Library Project, which places diverse books in little free libraries around Sacramento County with a special focus on book deserts.
Every ticket supports not only this event, but our family-owned bookstore in Elk Grove, CA, that fosters community through representation in our curated book selection, eco-friendly coffee, and mission-driven events.
