As you've probably heard, Thursday night a massive 8.1 earthquake struck off the coast of Chiapas, México, with devastation felt throughout the lower portion of México and northern Guatemala.

Our hearts go out to everyone affected especially those who lost everything.

Chiapas is México's southernmost state and also its poorest with over 75% of its population living in poverty. Many of its inhabitants, Maya indigenous, live in small villages within the mountains and jungles and often go overlooked. Despite the challenges they face, they are a strong people. They're caring, loyal, and will work as hard as they need to to provide for their families.

Please join us in donating to the relief efforts!

All donations raised through www.HelpChiapas.org through the end of September will go to earthquake relief efforts in Mexico.

All donations are greatly appreciated.
Muchas gracias

Doña María showing us the traditional Ch'ol embroidery. She is the last one in Allende who still wears the blouse every day. We are grateful for her presence in the community as an example of pride in the past, present and future of the Ch'ol culture.
