Last week, we hosted our annual Pat Campbell Team Match Play Championship at Haggin Oaks Golf Complex Mackenzie Golf Course! ⛳

Twenty of our lowest-scoring Junior Tour players teamed up for a 10v10 match play competition, with the University of Washington Huskies edging out the Washington State Cougars 5.5 to 4.5 in a match that came down to the 18th hole.

After the round, everyone celebrated with dinner and cookie cakes. Team events like these are always a favorite, and we can’t wait for more opportunities to bring our juniors together! 💙

We’re thrilled to announce that Khloe Chao has been selected to attend the 2026 First Tee Game Changers Academy!🎉

Chosen from among four applicants from our chapter, Khloe will join teens from across the country for a transformative five-day experience focused on leadership, self-awareness, and building stronger communities. Through interactive workshops, meaningful discussions, and guidance from First Tee coaches, participants are empowered to become positive leaders and make a lasting impact both now and in the future.

We are so proud of Khloe and can’t wait to see all that she learns and the impact she’ll bring back to our community. Congratulations, Khloe! 💙⛳

One of the most impactful parts of our ACE program is helping students explore careers through real-world experiences.

Recently, ACE participant Abigail Lin, who is interested in pursuing a career in engineering, visited Cartwright NorCal. During her visit, she met with four women engineers and gained firsthand insight into the many opportunities and career paths within the field.

⛳ Five incredible teens. One national stage. For another year running, all five First Tee — Greater Sacramento participants who applied have been selected for the PURE Insurance Championship Impacting First Tee at Pebble Beach Golf Links in September!

Huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the 35th Annual Jr/Sr FUNvitational, presented by Cobra Puma Golf, at Haggin Oaks Golf Complex! 💙⛳

From our players and volunteers to our sponsors and supporters, you made this year’s event one to remember. The day was filled with friendly competition, exciting contests, raffle prizes, auction items, awards, and an incredible sense of community.

The most meaningful part of the day was celebrating our graduating seniors. Congratulations to the 13 outstanding members of the Class of 2026 who were awarded more than $50,000 in college scholarships! 🎓 We were also proud to recognize Arden Han-Wei and Evan Morton with our “Firstee” Community First Award for their exceptional commitment to serving others.

35 years. One unforgettable day. ⛳🎉

Our 35th Annual Jr/Sr FUNvitational, presented by Cobra Puma Golf, brought the fun to Haggin Oaks Golf Complex. Juniors and their adult partners teed it up together for a morning of laughs, high-fives, and golf that mattered more than the scorecard.

The luncheon brought an extra dose of emotion, as we celebrated our graduating seniors and proudly handed out their well-earned scholarship awards. 🎓

In May, our Junior Tour played at the Optimist Qualifier Tournament to compete for a place at the Optimist Junior Golf Championship in Doral, Florida this July!

On a blustery Sunday at Haggin Oaks’ Mackenzie Course, 120 junior golfers showed up ready to compete—and they delivered!

🏆 Niko Sato led the boys field with a 72
🏆 Sakura Watanabe topped the girls division with a 77
✈️ Several players qualified for the Optimist International Junior Golf Championship in Doral, Florida this July!

We’re excited to follow their journeys and share more from this incredible opportunity in the weeks ahead.

A huge THANK YOU to the Sacramento Breakfast Optimist Club ❤️ Nearly 15 volunteers helped keep the tournament running smoothly, and their fundraising efforts will cover the registration fee for four age division winners.

🌸⛳ June is Women’s Golf Month, and we’re celebrating the women and girls who are changing the game one tee time, one round, and swing at a time.

⛳ 8M + women and girls played golf in 2025.
🏌️‍♀️Women represent nearly 30% of all on-course golfers.
📈 Participation has grown nearly 46% since 2019.

From trailblazers and beginners to golf besties and future champions, women are making the game more welcoming, inspiring, and fun for everyone.

Here’s to taking up space on the fairway and creating even more opportunities for the next generation of girls to fall in love with the game. 💖🌸⛳
