🍷 Cheers to a wonderful afternoon with the Sacramento Valley Pharmacists Association!

On Saturday, August 15, SVPhA members and friends gathered at Turkovich Winery in Winters for a Wine Tasting & Potluck filled with great food, wine, conversation, and plenty of time to connect.

Events like this are a great reminder that our pharmacy community is about more than the work we do. It is also about the friendships, relationships, and connections we build along the way.

On Sunday, August 16, a CPhA member, Corner Drug Co. in Woodland, was vandalized as part of a potential hate crime.
The California Pharmacists Association stands proudly with Corner Drug Co. and the entire patient community in Woodland who are served by dedicated and caring pharmacists.

We condemn this cowardly attack and attempted intimidation, which has no place in any community.

CPhA stands with all pharmacists in upholding the Pharmacists Oath of Service, devoting ourselves to a lifetime of service to all humanity and protecting the welfare and health of all patients.
Pharmacists will not be deterred by ignorance and hate from fulfilling their professional and moral obligations to their patients.

In Memoriam: Honoring the Life and Legacy of Craig Stern
CPhA extends our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of longtime CPhA member Craig Stern.

Craig served as a past Chief Editor of CPhA’s journal and was recognized as a Fellow of CPhA for his contributions to the profession. His dedication, leadership, and service made a lasting impact on CPhA and the pharmacy community.

A funeral service honoring Craig’s life will be held:

BIG NEWS: A federal court has dismissed the pharmacy benefit manager industry’s challenge to California’s SB 41, a major win for stronger PBM oversight and accountability.

The court found that the industry failed to show specific harm caused by the law, which requires PBMs to act in the best interests of their clients and addresses conflicts of interest within the prescription drug supply chain. While the industry may amend its complaint, this dismissal is an important step forward for patients, pharmacies, and transparency.
