PPAC’s worked to successfully enact legislation that:
* secured a Medi-Cal reimbursement rate increase for family planning services.
* restored family planning funds when they were line item-vetoed by Gov. George Deukmejian.
* made it a crime to block access to a health facility.
* protects Californians’ fundamental right to choose a safe and legal abortion even if the federal government reduces

protections under Roe v. Wade.
* required employer health plans include contraceptives as part of the benefit package (the Contraceptive Equity Act).
* ensured that students who receive s*x education in schools receive accurate information on abstinence, human s*xuality, contraception, pregnancy and s*xually transmitted diseases in an age-appropriate manner.
* allowed pharmacists to dispense emergency contraception under statewide protocol approved by the Medical Board of California and the Board of Pharmacy.

Spice up your life ✨ and CALL CONGRESS 📞 today❗️

You don’t need a pink phone booth (but it helps💋) to demand that YOUR Congress member oppose any efforts to further ‘defund’ Planned Parenthood.

People in communities across California depend on Planned Parenthood health centers for essential health care like cancer screenings, birth control, and STI testing and treatment.

We’re counting on California’s members of Congress to fight for their constituents and their right to reproductive freedom by protecting this vital access to care.

We had a blast at the 2026 Convention educating attendees about the impacts of the Trump Administration and Congressional Republicans’ “Big, Ugly Bill” on our state’s health care safety net, including the ‘defund’ of over 100 Planned Parenthood health centers in California alone.

A judge has confirmed what we know to be true: the Trump administration and Congressional Republicans’ defund of Planned Parenthood health centers is unlawful.

We are incredibly grateful to for fighting to protect all Californians’ right to access the care they need at Planned Parenthood health centers.

This preliminary injunction is only a temporary solution as the lawsuit moves through the courts. PPAC will continue to fight to keep California Planned Parenthood health centers open to continue providing the comprehensive, trusted, and non-judgmental s*xual and reproductive health care that so many rely on.
