This month we will be switching up locations once again; you'll find us chatting among the beautiful shelves of Amatoria Fine Art Books (1831 F St.).

Finally, the time is nearly here! Join us for a wonderful night of spaghetti, dessert, drinks, and community spirit. This neighborhood event has been going on for over 30 years, and is a great way to meet your neighbors while supporting the BPNA. This year, help yourself to a plate of spaghetti for $15 (or $10 if you're 12 or younger) - and for those who prefer their Italian-American staples plant-based or gluten-free, we've got you covered!

🧁 As always, dessert will be potluck style, so bring a dish to share!

🧃 A variety of beverages will also be available.

In addition to the delicious food, prepare to be entertained with a 🐎 hay wagon ride around the historic boulevards, 🎈 a balloon artist, 🫧 a bubble entertainer, and more - all provided complimentary!

🎟️ Lastly, there will be a raffle filled with donations from many of our neighborhood businesses, with the proceeds providing additional support to the BPNA.

💳 Back by popular demand, you can skip the line and prepay online!

🙋🏽 We are still seeking a few more volunteers! Shifts are just an hour long (although you can sign up for multiple), and volunteers eat for free!

We're continuing our meeting location rotation with a twist this time and heading down into an apartment space graciously offered by one of our most dedicated members, Catherine Turrill-Lupi.

Hey neighbors!

We are still seeking volunteers for the Boulevard Park Spaghetti Dinner! For those uninitiated, this is the event of the year for our neighborhood, where we bring together hundreds of neighbors for a special night of spaghetti, desserts, beverages, and good times, while also raising funds for the BPNA.. This annual gathering has been going strong for over 30 years - but it can't happen without your help! Each year, we rely on dozens of volunteers to help run the cash register, serve spaghetti, and perform all sorts of other tasks to help make the night a success.

In addition to all that fun stuff, this event features a free Hay Wagon ride around the historic areas of the neighborhood, a bubble making artist, and a balloon artist!

This year's Spaghetti Dinner is on Saturday, September 12th and will run from 5:30 PM to 8 PM. We will once again be returning to the Alley Park between F, G, 21st, and 22nd Street. The cost for a plate is $15 for adults and $10 for children; however, volunteers eat for free! In general, volunteer shifts are just 1 hour long.

This month we return to a familiar space for our board meeting!

Join us to listen to a presentation from Better Ballot Sacramento to talk about a potential ballot initiative to introduce Ranked Choice Voting to Sacramento City elections. Afterward, we'll chat about all of the great events and initiatives we have as we head toward cooler temps.

As always, light refreshments will be provided, and we welcome any other topics that might be on the tops of neighbors' minds!

Tuesday, August 4, is “National Night Out” in Sacramento and around the country (website: https://natw.org/about/). As in past years, the Boulevard Park Neighborhood Association and the Marshall-New Era Neighborhood Association will be co-hosting a progressive potluck dinner that spans our two neighborhoods. This is a great opportunity to meet and converse with neighbors, public officials, city employees, and members of the Sacramento Police Department.

The meal starts with an appetizer course in the grassy median strip of 22nd Street between F and G Streets (6 p.m.), continues with a dinner course in the side yard of 2431 H Street (7 p.m.), and ends with a dessert course in Marshall Park, 28th and I Streets (8 p.m.). Participants are asked to bring a favorite dish and/or beverages to share at any of the three courses.

Join us along with Marshall-New Era Neighborhood Association , District 4 Park Commissioner Marc Laver, and the Office of Councilmember Phil Pluckebaum in partnership with YPCE - City of Sacramento for a fun and rewarding morning of community effort as we work together to care for our park.

Tasks may include:
🎨 painting the retaining wall and softball backboard
🪑 painting benches
⛱️ adding/ leveling sand in the playground
🛝 cleaning play equipment
🪴 tidying landscaped areas
🚮 light litter cleanup

🧰 All tools and supplies will be provided.

🥤 Volunteers are encouraged to dress for the weather in closed-toe shoes and to bring reusable gloves and a water bottle if possible.

👩‍🎓 Youth groups and students can get credit for volunteer hours by participating in these events.

Most importantly - ☕ coffee and 🍩 donuts provided!

We have a packed agenda for this month's meeting with an exciting guest presentation, so make sure to come out!

Note that we again have a new location - this time, we are graciously being hosted by neighborhood business American Institute of Architects, California, whose great space at 1931 H St. is the perfect stopover for our meeting.
