CA Dept of Fish and Wildlife staff stocked Cody Lake with fish during Work Week! (If you take the Fishing merit badge in a couple years, you may be catching some of these fish.)

Save The Date(s) for Cody 2026!

July 18-19: Work Weekend! Come set up camp - we’ll feed you for free! No pets. Scouts who are attending camp SHOULD be there to help set up - it’s what we do. (JO Staff required to be there.)

July 20-24: Work Week - JO Staff required, adults by invite only.

July 25 - Aug 2: Camp Cody 2026!

July 26: Alumni Day! All alumni welcome to join us for lunch (free!). Unlimited bug juice available.

Aug 1: Family Day! Families arrive AFTER 1:30 pm. No pets. Only registered adults can camp near the lake overnight.

Aug 2: Departure Day - EVERYONE helps pack camp up on Sunday morning! Scouts and their families DO NOT LEAVE until dismissed by the JCD (usually around 11 am on Sunday).

TODAY - March 24 - is George Morrow’s birthday! 🎉🎂🎈

George is a long-time Troop 1 member - he was in Troop 1 as a Scout and earned his Eagle Scout award in 1947. At age 21, he became Troop 1’s Scoutmaster, and served as a merit badge counselor, Committee Chair, Chartered Organization Representative, and many other roles for all the years since then. Up at Camp Cody, he served as head chef from 1978 until 2018 - an incredible 31 years!

We’re glad and grateful for all he’s done to keep Troop 1 going these many years. Leave a comment below to wish him well today, or your favorite meal of his!
