Today, members of our River City Chapter joined fellow Delta Waterfowl members from across California at the California State Capitol for the 1st Annual Delta Waterfowl Lobby Day at the Capitol.

We met with legislators to advocate for:
• AB 1169: expanding public hunting access through the SHARE Program
• AB 929: protecting managed wetlands under the Sustainable Groundwater Act
• SB 427: securing permanent funding for habitat conservation

This effort is about more than policy. It is about protecting waterfowl, wetlands, and the outdoor traditions we value for generations to come.

Thank you to all the Senators and Assemblymembers that we met with for your time and open ears. We were encouraged by the unanimous and enthusiastic support for these priorities. We look forward to building on these relationships, working together for conservation, and welcoming many of them into the blind for their first waterfowl hunt in the near future.

Delta Waterfowl’s River City Chapter () Chairman () helping Delta Waterfowl’s Regional Biologist Zac Copeland () work on some hen houses at Grizzly Island Wildlife Area and surrounding properties. Hen Houses are the most cost-effective tool to increase mallard production. Targeted to areas of the highest mallard breeding density, Delta Waterfowl Hen Houses consistently boost nest success to more than 60 percent. In areas where ground-nesting mallards typically achieve nest success of less than 10 percent, Hen Houses can increase nest success up to 80 percent.

This Thanksgiving, we are grateful for the incredible community of conservationists, hunters, supporters, and volunteers who make our mission possible. Together, we’re ensuring the future of waterfowl, their habitats, and the traditions we cherish.

As we gather with loved ones, let’s take a moment to appreciate the wetlands, the wildlife, and the beauty of the outdoors that unite us all. Thank you for being part of the Delta Waterfowl family and for helping us protect what we hold dear.

River City Delta Waterfowl

The River City Chapter of Delta Waterfowl is The Duck Hunters Organization, a leading conservation group founded at the famed Delta Marsh in Manitoba, with its U.S. Headquarters in Bismarck, North Dakota. We work to produce ducks through intensive management programs and conservation of breeding duck habitat. Delta conducts vital waterfowl research, and promotes and protects the continuing tradition of waterfowl hunting in North America.

Delta produces ducks for you. Delta’s effective, science-based duck production programs, including Predator Management and Hen Houses, add thousands of ducks every year to your fall fight.

Delta conserves breeding duck habitat for you. Through tireless agriculture policy efforts and innovative, incentive-based habitat programs such as North Dakota Working Wetlands, Delta ensures future duck production for you.

Delta enhances duck hunting opportunities for you. Utilizing a vast network of chapters and volunteers, Delta defends hunting rights and access anytime, anywhere they’re threatened, on the local, state/provincial and federal levels.
