Join us in congratulating Nick Dominguez on his promotion to Development & Operations Manager! 🎉

Nick's Make-A-Wish journey began long before he joined our team. As an elementary school student, he participated in a fundraiser that included a visit to the Wishing Place, an experience that left a lasting impression and inspired him to pursue a career with purpose.

After earning a degree in Government and Data Science from Harvard University, Nick found his way to Make-A-Wish, where he now plays a vital role in advancing our mission through donor engagement, event planning, communications, operations, and data management.

One of Nick's favorite Make-A-Wish moments came full circle when he returned to his elementary school, Diamond Creek, to help kick off a fundraiser and share the story of a wish alum whose wish continues to have a profound impact years later.

When he's not helping grant life-changing wishes, Nick enjoys traveling, exploring the outdoors, and working toward his goal of visiting all 63 U.S. National Parks. So far, he's visited 21!

Congratulations, Nick, on this well-deserved promotion. We're grateful for all you do to help bring hope, strength, and joy to wish kids and their families. 💙

AngelinRose's wish came true!

At just 6 years old, AngelinRose, who was diagnosed with cancer, wished to go to Disneyland, dress up as Elsa, and meet all of the Disney Princesses. During her wish trip, she experienced the magic she had been dreaming about and shared hugs and memories with some of her favorite princesses.

For wish kids like AngelinRose, a wish gives them something joyful to focus on beyond their illness and creates memories that last long after the wish is over. 💙

💛 September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. This month, we honor the incredible strength, courage, and resilience of children facing cancer and their families.

More than 56% of our chapter's wish kids have been diagnosed with some form of cancer, making childhood cancer the most common diagnosis among the children we serve.

A wish can provide hope during difficult days, create joyful memories, and remind children that anything is possible. Together, we can help bring light when it's needed most.

Seventeen-year-old Benjamin, who is living with a genetic condition, dreamed of visiting Japan and that dream has now come true!

When Benjamin imagined his wish, he pictured seeing the beautiful cherry blossoms in bloom and exploring all the sights, culture, and shopping Japan has to offer. An outgoing teen who loves walks, hikes, music, and theater, this wish was the perfect opportunity for adventure, discovery, and unforgettable memories.

Wishes are more than trips or experiences. They create moments of hope, joy, and strength that can have a lasting impact on wish children and their families. Thanks to the generous support of our community, Benjamin was able to experience the wonder of Japan and create memories that will last a lifetime. 💙

Meet Lizzy Byrn, Senior Manager of Mission Delivery & Resources, whose passion for making a difference helps bring hope and joy to wish children and their families every day.

Before joining Make-A-Wish, Lizzy worked with organizations like JDRF and Special Olympics, where she witnessed the life-changing impact nonprofits can have on individuals and communities. Those experiences inspired her commitment to purpose-driven work and ultimately led her to Make-A-Wish.

One of Lizzy's proudest accomplishments is granting more than 100 wishes in a single year, and over 1,000 wishes during her tenure with our chapter. For Lizzy, each wish represents a unique child, family, and story, and the opportunity to be part of those moments is something she deeply cherishes.

When asked about her favorite Make-A-Wish memory, Lizzy says it's seeing the moment a wish child realizes their wish is really happening. "That look of pure excitement and disbelief never gets old. It's a reminder that hope really is powerful."

Outside of work, Lizzy enjoys spending time with her husband and their two rescue French Bulldogs, traveling, baking and cooking, creating handmade crafts for her Etsy shop, and tending to their bees, garden, and fruit trees. And here's a fun fact: before Make-A-Wish, Lizzy played bass in a rock band and worked as a radio personality and local music reviewer!

Thank you, Lizzy, for your dedication, leadership, and the countless moments of hope you've helped create for wish children and families. 💙⭐

At Make-A-Wish Northeastern & Central California, wishes are made possible because of dedicated supporters like InterState Oil Company and the Andrews family. 💙

Led by Brent Andrews, President & CEO of InterState Oil Company and a valued member of our Board of Directors, InterState Oil has been a steadfast supporter of our mission for many years. In addition to hosting the annual Swing for the Wish golf tournament, the company is often a major supporter of other key fundraisers throughout the year, including our annual W**e, Wishes & Wh***ey Gala.

At this year's Swing for the Wish event, we were honored to welcome Nolan, a 9-year-old wish kid with leukemia. Nolan's wish to attend a Minnesota Vikings game will come true this October, creating memories he'll never forget. 💜🏈

The Andrews family's dedication goes far beyond financial support. Brent's daughter, Kylie Andrews, is an enthusiastic volunteer who regularly lends her time to Make-A-Wish, whether she's answering phones during our telethon, attending fundraising events, or helping wherever she's needed.

🐷 At just 10 years old, Michael was diagnosed with lymphoma after doctors discovered a tumor. An athletic kid who loves baseball, Fortnite, and cheering on the 49ers and Dodgers, Michael faced treatment with incredible strength and finished chemotherapy in just three months with the support of family and friends.

As his mom shared, "This journey wasn't easy for any of us, but faith gave us the strength and hope we needed."

Now 12, Michael's wish came true with an unforgettable trip to the Bahamas, where he got to swim with pigs and create joyful memories with the people who stood by him every step of the way. 🏝️✨

His teachers and friends say Michael can light up a room with his smile, and this wish journey was a chance for that smile to shine even brighter. As his family says, they look forward to continuing this journey with their "Mighty Michael."
