The Facebook home of the largest Rotary Club in the Sacramento metro area. What do we do? Community Commitment
The club has approximately 100 committees.

Many are dedicated to
specific charitable projects and programs. We have been a consistent
source of financial and physical support for almost every charitable
institution in the community. RCS played an instrumental role in
establishing the local Boy Scout movement. It was a founding
organization for the Children’s Receiving Home, the Sacramento Toy
Lending Library, the original Sacramento Blood Bank (now Blood
Source), the Sacramento History Museum and the Boys’ &Girls’ Club. The club’s more than 90-year commitment to local programs for
orthopedically challenged children is the oldest continuing community
service project in the Rotary World. Proceeds from the annual Golf 4
Kids Golf Tournament help purchase equipment and teaching aids for
orthopedically challenged children. Additionally, more than $1.5 million
has been raised at Bids for Kids, the club’s annual charity dinner auction. Each year these funds are distributed to designated local projects and
programs that benefit area youth.

What does science tell us about the health and future of one of California’s most treasured natural resources?

Join the Rotary Club of Sacramento on Tuesday, September 29, as we welcome Stephanie Hampton of the UC Davis Tahoe Environmental Research Center (TERC) as our luncheon presenter.

Stephanie will share insights into the research helping us better understand Lake Tahoe’s remarkable ecosystem and the work being done to study and protect it for future generations.

It promises to be a fascinating conversation about science, conservation, and the future of a place that means so much to our region.

Rotary brings together people who want to make a difference in their communities and around the world through service, leadership, and connection.

The Rotary Club of Sacramento is proud to welcome our newest member, Ken Barnes of the Greater Sacramento Urban League (GSUL). Ken is shown here accepting his Rotary lapel pin from Sacramento Rotary District Governor Dave Veden, as Sacramento Rotary President Paul Keefer looks on.

Ken recently became president and CEO of the GSUL after transforming a $2 million deficit into a surplus and launching plans to expand workforce, housing, and youth services throughout Sacramento.

The Rotary Club of Sacramento was pleased to host Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist Renee C. Byer of The Sacramento Bee. Ms. Byer shared her powerful work as the visual author of Living on a Dollar a Day: The Lives and Faces of the World’s Poor, now a traveling international exhibition that inspires viewers through compassion, education, and social action.
