(08-25-26) Let’s Finish August Strong!
All month long, we’ve been talking about Social Security and Medicare and why protecting these earned benefits matters. Now, as we wrap up the month, let’s make sure we’re doing our part to protect them for today’s retirees and future generations.

CalRTA is calling on Congress to work together in a bipartisan effort to strengthen and protect the future of Social Security and Medicare.

📢 Your voice matters. Take a few minutes today to contact your Representative and California’s Senators. Let Congress know that retirees are paying attention and expect action.

Teacher Grants are just one way CalRTA supports today's educators. For nearly a century, we've also fought to protect educators' retirement security - including helping repeal the WEP and GPO. And we're not done yet.

Whether you're an active or retired educator, your membership helps make this work possible.

For just $5.50/month - with convenient Easy Pay through CalSTRS for retirees - you can support advocacy that benefits educators today and tomorrow.

(08/20/26) The SAVE Act didn’t pass—but the fight isn’t over.

There is now discussion of adding pieces of the SAVE Act (H.R. 22) to other must-pass legislation when Congress returns.

That could mean major changes to voter registration requirements moving forward with little to no public debate, review and transparency.

Now is the time to make your voice heard. Contact your U.S. Representative and Senators and urge them to oppose efforts to add SAVE Act provisions to other bills.
