4 R Friends

4 R Friends We provide life saving emergency care for stray, abandoned, and shelter pets, and essential care for pets of low income families.

We are an all volunteer powered and all donation based Sacramento non-profit organization working in and with the community to stop the unnecessary euthanasia of pets in our local shelters. Our free clinics provide wellness and emergency veterinary care, equipment, food, and access to low cost spay/neuter services for Sacramento's low income and indigent pet owners. I wish I could properly put to words the feeling that comes from saving a life. Frank swallowed a string and his intestines bunched up like an inside-out sock. He would not have made it another day without emergency surgery and a day in the ICU. His mama’s gratitude, and seeing him unfurl into a happy pup again gives us a better high than anything short of first love. Thank you to our donors, volunteers, and fosters who make this work possible.
