Laborers Local 185 is proud to have assisted our friends Lisa Kaplan and Rick Jennings with their Re-Election efforts to serve another term for our Sacramento City Council. Both Lisa and Rick ran good, clean campaigns. They are both currently over 50% of the vote which is needed to avoid a runoff in November.

Local 185 Laborers working for Vintage Paving Co. are out trench paving and installing asphalt shoulder backing for Lund Construction today in McClellan Business Park. Lund’s laborers installed a new water system and Vintage Paving was subcontracted to repave Dudley Blvd. Jorge Castro and his crew from Lund provided the Traffic Control and Flagging.

Marques General Engineering has our Local 185 members on the Marlowe Natomas Multifamily Development project in Sacramento for Greystar. Marques was contracted to install the wet utilities for this project. DeSilva Gates is also on this project performing the Grading and earth moving.

Brodey Thorn and his crew at W.M Lyles Co. have been working on an EID (El Dorado Irrigation District) project in Sly Park. W.M. Lyles Co. was contracted to install a new Pump Station and Flowmeter Vault to accommodate the recent population in that area.

Laborers Local 185 was proud to host our first ever In The Know power training at our Sacramento Hall. Brother Daniel Garcia had 32 local 185 apprentices in this class. We are proud of our Apprentices and from the looks of this class, our future looks bright!

Brother Becerra started his career off following his father‘s footsteps working as a proud labor in local 185. We’re proud to standby all of the trust officials who have been committed to fighting for the men and women of local 185.
