It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our Past Exalted Ruler and dear friend at Sacramento Elks Lodge No. 6, Steve Clazie.
Steve was a mentor, a friend, and a devoted Elk who meant so much to so many. He was always there for our Lodge and took great pride in keeping Sac 6 in the community spotlight. A gifted writer, Steve wrote countless stories about our Lodge and its members, many of which found their way into the Pocket News and helped share the good work of Elkdom throughout our community.
Steve dedicated much of his life to education. He was a longtime teacher at John F. Kennedy High School before retiring, but his love of teaching and giving back never stopped. Until very recently, he continued volunteering at Didion Elementary, reading stories to kindergarten classes and sharing his time with another generation of children.
Above all, Steve was someone who showed up for others. He was a devoted husband and caregiver to his beloved wife, Joan, whose passing just months ago left an immeasurable space in his life.
Steve will be deeply missed by his daughters and family, his many friends, and his entire Elks family at Sac 6. We are grateful for the years, stories, wisdom, friendship, and service he gave us.
Steve, may you and Joan be together again in peace.
To our absent member. 🕊️❤️
