Top things I love about is how many different ways our supporters show up fr KFH. And it isn't just today, it's everyday, but today's seems extra special. Thanks to Jan (for doing the shopping) and the Rancho Murieta Kiwanis for filling our pantry!! We love and appreciate your support!!

Big Day of Giving is TOMORROW! I am SO EXCITED! The impact this day has on the KFH families is immeasurable. Through this effort we are able to do so many things throughout the year from stocking our food pantry to buying blankets and towels. Big Day is more than just a fundraiser for KFH, it is how we sustain our community, our families, and the hope we give them everyday. Join us in our effort by making your donation today!

The original Kiwanis Family House was opened in June, 1984. The original facility opened with seven bedrooms and one community kitchen. As demand for our services grew, the facility was expanded by an additional six bedrooms in 1989. Kiwanis replaced the original House...

One of the many great things that happens at KFH is that we don't just get to talk to people, we get to build community with them. Our guests share how they are feeling, how we can help, and also, how they can give back. This guest stayed for a while, supporting a loved one at Shriners. By the end of their stay, we were having pizza parties and leaf raking days with them. As much as we were there for him, he wanted to give back. Our community inspires us in so many ways. If you want to see this headboard (because that was his reminder of what his family went through) swing on over to the office. It hangs proudly.

One of the great things about Kiwanis family house, is that we get to share in a lot of celebrations that people don't expect to have. We were honored to celebrate Lenny for his birthday. His family came while he was in treatment for cancer, to decorate his room, the parking lot, and make sure he knew he was cared for. This big day of giving, reminds me that Kiwanis family house does more for people than we realize. We gave this family a space, a reason, and the hope to celebrate a birthday that many thought wasn't going to happen. Lenny and his wife were among our favorite guests over the past year. Just yesterday, he rang the bell. Cancer-free, finally.
