👋🌧 Hello Community! We have experienced heavy rains & winds this weekend. A historical forecast , leaving our friends & neighbors experiencing homelessness more vulnerable than ever.

We are low on supplies & are collecting rainy & cold weather survival gear. Resources that will make a difference in this season. We are believing in a community that will show up in this time 🤍

Your help would mean everything! Please message us for drop off information or head to breakthegap.org to give directly towards these items.

We are also looking for volunteers for a respite center in Oak Park that will be welcoming friends who have no place to go or rest during the rain. Please again , contact us to get involved.

Because of your donations to shoesforsac.com we were able to kick off a series called Shop 4 Sac , where we take our friends that we have established connections with during our outreach program & we take them to our nearest shopping mall to choose shoes of their choice. It’s more than shoes guys, it’s about them stepping into dignity! They are not victims of a take take take mentality , but warriors who choose different & to partake in a world that has endless opportunities for them. We are wrapping around services for them to ensure they get into workforce, & steps towards housing. Life is beautiful. Head to shoesforsac.com & join us !

Home. “What is your definition of home?” What if home was never a place , but an experience. For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. Break The Gap is the story of our true home, exposing & defining the gap that has been keeping us from accessing it. We must break every gap, every stigma, every false pedestal and title, every judgement and hate towards one another. Towards the way we treat the poor, the widow, the orphan, those experiencing homelessness, we must change our perspective on what we consider valuable....within & without.

Outreaches and giving back to those amongst the street takes a whole new meaning. It’s not about homelessness, it’s simply just about people & helping them find their way back to true home. ✨

This rug , is cultivating home for our experiences. 🤍
