On August 7th, the Southern California Tribal To***co Coalition held a To***co Prevention Youth Summit at La Jolla Campgrounds. The event included educational sessions on the risks of commercial to***co use, alongside insights from Dr. Stan Rodriguez on traditional to***co practices. The summit wrapped up with a fun outing to a waterpark for the youth participants. The event had a great turn out and provided many with information on the harms of commercial to***co. Thank you to the Southern California Tribal To***co Coalition for coordinating this event, and all the youth for participating!

To***co use can lead to heart disease and stroke. Which are major causes of death and disability in the United States. Many people are at high risk for these diseases and don’t know it. The good news is that many risk factors for heart disease and stroke can be prevented or controlled. A good place to start is with the ABCS of your heart health.
