As we honor , we not only reflect on a pivotal moment in American history, but also celebrate Black culture, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of equity and justice.

At AFSP, we recognize that mental health is deeply connected to the lived experiences of identity, community, and history. The legacy of systemic injustice continues to impact the mental health and well-being of Black communities today. It’s why our commitment to equity in mental health advocacy, resources, and care must be unwavering.

Our Greater Sacramento team participated in this year’s Overnight walk in Chicago! We walked for our loved ones, siblings, parents, spouses, partners, friends, family, neighbors, veterans, youth and for ourselves. πŸ’™

Together, our 31st Overnight Walk has raised over $2.8 million.

Thank you to the thousands of people who walked through the night in Chicago to fight su***de, and those who supported them! πŸ™οΈβœ¨

Part 2! We asked our LGBTQ+ community members at Sacramento Pride this weekend: β€œWhat’s your message of hope to your younger self?”

This is your reminder to give your inner child a hug and remember that anything is possible if you stick around to see it.

AFSP Greater Sacramento is here for you. Join us September 12th at our annual Sacramento Out of the Darkness walk, and bring your inner child with you ❀️

We walk for all versions of ourselves, come as you are. We can’t wait to see you.

The response: an outpouring of love and support.

Hope is powerful. What will you do to inspire hope today?
