The 2025 Resilience Review is officially live! 🔥

This year’s annual report highlights the incredible work happening across California to strengthen wildfire resilience through local partnerships, community action, education, and mitigation efforts.

In 2025, CFSC managed $11.9 million in active sub-grants supporting 64 organizations statewide. Together, these efforts helped:

🤝 Engage more than 11,300 community members through outreach and education
🏠 Complete 810 Home Hardening Assessments
🌲 Treat 2,107 acres through fuels reduction and vegetation management projects

These numbers represent real progress happening in communities across the state, and they’re only part of the story.

We’re grateful to the Fire Safe Councils, partners, funders, and community members helping advance wildfire preparedness and resilience throughout California.

🔥 New tools are here to help communities across California reduce wildfire risk! 🔥

Whether you’re building on existing efforts or just getting started, Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety - IBHS and American Property Casualty Insurance Association have launched a science-based toolkit to support local leaders, fire agencies, and residents in reducing home ignition risk and limiting fire spread.

At the California Fire Safe Council, we know that local action drives real impact. Resources like this help turn wildfire science into practical, step-by-step guidance that supports communities at every stage, strengthening ongoing work while also providing a clear starting point for those just beginning.

The result: research-backed strategies that support Fire Safe Councils and partners in advancing resilience where it matters most, on the ground in our communities.

🗓 Proposal Deadline: May 8, 2026 (EOD)

In the wake of the January 2025 LA wildfires, there’s no one way to heal. For many, simply having a space to come together can make a meaningful difference. 💛

We’re grateful for the Santa Monica Mountains Fire Safe Council and the care they brought to their Wildfire Cafés, created for communities impacted by the fires. These gatherings offered a welcoming space for people to share stories, sit with one another, and take recovery one step at a time.

From a virtual café that connected participants across California to an in-person gathering at the Getty Villa that brought together community members from across Los Angeles County, each one created space for connection, reflection, and support.

It’s a reminder that recovery isn’t only about rebuilding structures. It’s also about showing up for each other.

This work was made possible through funding from Edison International (Southern California Edison (SCE)), provided via a grant through the California Fire Safe Council.

Wildfire resilience starts with how we care for the land—and each other. 🔥

Science shows that when communities harden their homes, maintain defensible space, and support landscape-scale management, it not only protects homes but also supports the health of surrounding ecosystems.

Fire safe communities and healthy landscapes go hand in hand.

🌎 This , stewardship means learning to live more safely with wildfire.
