BIG win for our community 🎉

The City Council heard us loud and clear on our unified demand for binding policy, not just a statement of values. Yesterday on April 28th, the Sacramento City Council passed a resolution prohibiting the use of city property and resources for ICE immigration enforcement. With a unanimous vote, the resolution directs the City Manager to return with an implementation plan by June 23, 2026. On this deadline, a proposed ordinance may potentially be developed to codify the ban with stronger enforcement and long-term protections.

We continue to show what’s possible when we organize together, so stay tuned for what’s next for the work it’ll take to win implementation through passing a Community Action Plan! ✊
