WHEN DID WE START CONFUSING ENABLING WITH LOVE?

Somewhere along the way, we've started confusing loving people with defending their behavior, excusing their wrongdoing, and protecting them from accountability.

And unfortunately, I see this happening far too often within the body of Christ, especially when it comes to the people closest to us.

But here's something we need to understand: You can love someone deeply and still refuse to agree with, defend, or participate in what they're doing.

And I'm not excluding myself from this conversation. I've had to examine my own heart in this area, too.

📖 Proverbs 27:6 — "Faithful are the wounds of a friend, But the kisses of an enemy are deceitful." (NKJV)

Biblical love doesn't require us to compromise biblical truth.

Sometimes the most loving thing we can do is stop making excuses and start speaking the truth in love.

Here's something worth examining: Are we helping the people we love grow, or are we helping them remain comfortable in behaviors that need to change?

HELP US PROVIDE THANKSGIVING FOR 150 FAMILIES!

Daughter of God Discipleship is preparing for our November 7th Thanksgiving Outreach, where we will be serving families throughout Del Paso Heights and North Sacramento.

Our goal is BIG this time: 150 FAMILIES.

We are raising $7,500 to help purchase turkeys, Thanksgiving sides, and the supplies needed to put these meals into the hands of families in our community.

$10 helps.

EVERY donation gets us closer.

I used to think loving someone meant they had to have access to me. That if I truly loved them, they needed to remain close to me and have a place in my life.

But I’m learning that you can love someone and still have boundaries. You can love someone who is no longer in your life.

When someone continually tries to discredit your witness, becomes a stumbling block in your walk with Christ, encourages or excuses sin, refuses to take accountability, constantly brings confusion or division, or repeatedly pulls you away from the person God is calling you to become, it may be time for boundaries.

And sometimes that person will be family. Sometimes it will be a friend you’ve known for years. Sometimes it will be someone you genuinely love.

Setting a boundary doesn’t mean you hate them. It doesn’t mean you stop praying for them. It doesn’t mean you believe you’re better than them. And it certainly doesn’t mean you stop showing the love of Christ.

It simply means loving someone does not require giving them unlimited access to you.

Jesus calls us to love people, forgive people, pray for people, and even love our enemies. But nowhere does Scripture teach that every person must have the same level of access to our lives.

Some people you can love closely.
Some people you have to love with boundaries.
And some people you may have to love from a distance.

“Do not be deceived: ‘Evil company corrupts good habits.’” — 1 Corinthians 15:33 (NKJV)

You can forgive without restoring the same access.
You can pray without reconnecting.
You can love without remaining close.

Sometimes obedience to God means accepting that loving someone and walking closely with someone are not always the same thing.

🌿 DAUGHTER OF GOD DISCIPLESHIP — 2027 DISCIPLESHIP PROGRAM

Are you ready to go deeper in your walk with Christ and become more grounded in His Word?

Beginning Saturday, March 20, 2027, Daughter of God Discipleship will begin our 30-Week Discipleship Program.

📖 30 weeks of intentional discipleship
🗓️ March–October 2027
💻 Weekly Saturday morning classes via Zoom
👥 Limited to 12 women

Throughout the program, we will work through the Rose Guide to Discipleship, building a strong biblical foundation and learning not only what we believe, but why we believe it and where we find it in Scripture.

Each woman will complete her weekly study before class. During our time together, we will dig deeper into Scripture, discuss what we've learned, ask questions, apply God's Word to our lives, practice Scripture retention, walk in accountability, and pray together.

This is more than attending a weekly Bible study. Discipleship requires commitment, consistency, obedience, and a willingness to grow.

Jesus said:

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations…” — Matthew 28:19

Only 12 women will be accepted into the 2027 cohort. Once those spaces are filled, additional applicants will be placed on a waitlist.

Those who complete the full 30-week program will receive a Daughter of God Discipleship Certificate of Completion.

Hear from some of the women themselves about what Daughter of God Discipleship has meant to them. 🩷

This is simply a call for real sisterhood in Christ.

I’ve heard so many women say they came to Christ, found a church, but eventually still felt alone, especially when life got hard. Sometimes it can feel cliquish, and if you haven’t found “your people,” you can be surrounded by believers and still feel unseen.

We need sisters who pray, show up, speak truth in love, walk through the hard seasons, celebrate the good ones, and keep pointing each other back to Jesus.

And by the grace of God, that’s what I’m watching happen within Daughter of God Discipleship. 🩷

Ladies! 💕 Our 30-Week Discipleship training officially begins March 20, 2027! This will be taking place over Zoom.

This discipleship is for women who are ready to go deeper in their walk with Christ, grow in their understanding of His Word, and learn what it truly means to follow Jesus and live as His disciple.

For our first class, we will only be accepting 12 women so that we can keep the group personal and intentional. Once those 12 spots are filled, additional applicants will be placed on the waitlist. Our next 30-week class will not begin until March 2028.

This Thanksgiving, we're coming together to help provide complete Thanksgiving dinners for 100 families experiencing food insecurity in Del Paso Heights and North Sacramento. ❤️

ARE YOU READY TO GO DEEPER? 🌹

Daughter of God Discipleship is opening registration for our 30-Week Women’s Discipleship Program, beginning March 20, 2027!

This is more than another Bible study. This program is about learning what it truly means to be a disciple of Jesus—and becoming equipped to biblically disciple others.

Jesus modeled discipleship by intentionally walking with, teaching, correcting, and preparing His disciples for roughly three years. We also see this multiplication through Paul and Timothy: Paul poured into Timothy, and Timothy was instructed to entrust what he had learned to faithful people who would then be able to teach others (2 Timothy 2:2).

That is the heart behind Daughter of God Discipleship:

Matthew 28:19–20 — “Go therefore and make disciples…”

Making disciples wasn't something Jesus asked us to do if we felt like it. It is part of the Great Commission, a command to His followers. Jesus didn't simply command us to bring people to faith; He said to make disciples, teaching them to observe what He commanded.

We are discipled. We grow. We disciple others.

Now… 😂 I KNOW 30 weeks—about 7 months—can sound scary! So please, PRAY on it, ladies! Real discipleship takes time, consistency, obedience, and commitment. This isn't meant to be rushed. 🩷

Throughout these 30 weeks, we'll grow through Scripture, prayer, obedience, accountability, Scripture memorization, practical application, fellowship, and learning how to faithfully pour biblical truth into others.
