April has been an exciting month for the Buena Vista Community Fund! We were thrilled to donate to the kids from School of Rock - Elk Grove so they can continue to crank out the tunes. They invited us to hear them play and we were blown away! If you ever get a chance to see them live, it's highly recommended.

We were delighted to be able to donate to this fabulous group who's doing amazing things in West Sacramento!

Yesterday, the Board of the Buena Vista Community Fund of the Buena Vista Rancheria of Me-Wuk Indians delivered a $20,000 donation to the West Sacramento Police Department Community Outreach and Support Division. This donation came through a member of the Buena Vista Board with West Sacramento roots who reached out to Homeless Manager Mark Sawyer seeking to support the work the division is doing in the community.

The funds will be used in part to assist some of the city’s most vulnerable population as they make the transition from Project Homekey and Roomkey programs to self-sufficiency in the new Permanent Supportive Housing development at 1801 West Capitol, as well as supporting the department’s Youth Outreach programming such as Shop with a Cop and Youth activity camps.

Thank you to Buena Vista Community Fund for this generous donation. We can’t wait to share all of the good it will do in our community!

The Buena Vista Community Fund is proud to donate to Amador County Animal Response Team (ACART). ACART provides emergency sheltering and care of animals, most recently due to fires. We appreciate and applaud the work they do in the community.

Our community Fund benefiting our community!

Today we put into service 10 new Stop the Bleed Kits. Each kit contains a tourniquet, gauze, hemostatic dressings, tape and trauma shears.

These kits have been provided to local fire agencies for the benefit of our communities. In the event of a multi casualty incident, responders can utilize these to quickly and effectively stop bleeding on patients as they are triaged.

Thank you to The Buena Vista Rancheria for providing the funding, and the Amador County Fire Chiefs Assoc for putting the kits together.

The Buena Vista Community Fund was excited to be able to help our local fire stations. A note we received from Steve Billingsley:

The City of Ione Fire Dept began our 2021 EMT Class this month.

Our students are Volunteer Firefighters who give their time to protect our community and care for the citizens of Amador County.

Ione Fire, Jackson Fire, Sutter Creek Fire, Lockwood Fire, Herald Fire and Jackson Valley Fire all have students in the class.

We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to the Buena Vista Rancheria Community Fund for their generous donation to sponsor our class.
