Congratulations to Angelica Neavins Maltese who is the recipient of the DOVIA Sacramento Youth Volunteer of the Year Award. Angelica was nominated by Blossom Vale Senior Living Center. Angelica is an elementary school student, and she created an “Adopt a Grandparent” program for the senior living residence. She has visited her adopted resident weekly since 2024. She also compiled resident recipes into a Blossom Vale cookbook which served as a lasting tribute to residents. In addition to the award, DOVIA Sacramento presented Angelica with a $500 scholarship.

So exciting! DOVIA is so pleased to honor volunteers from our service area this week. Over 20 local volunteers came through our nomination process and three of them will win “Volunteer of the Year” on May 20.
