Sacramento youth ages 14-19! Unsung Heroes Living History Project's Youth Employment Training Institute is back for 2022! Orientation (virtual) is Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 1:00pm. The Institute will be held virtually via Zoom from Monday, July 18 - Friday, July 22, 2022 from 11:00am-1:00pm. Participants who complete the 40-hour program will receive a $500.00 stipend. I will be on CBS13 CBS Sacramento during the 5:00pm and 10:00pm newscasts, discussing the Unsung Heroes Living History Project's exhibits "We Also Served" and "Do You Know Who I Am?" currently on display at the African American Museum and Library at Oakland. Unsung Heroes Living History Project is proud to present the hybrid exhibit, "We Also Served: African Americans in the Military." on display at the African American Museum and Library at Oakland (NEW START DATE) December 20, 2021-February 28, 2022. Funding has been provided by California Humanities and National Endowment for the Humanities as part of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. Exhibit expansion made possible by funding from the California Arts Council. We are looking for veterans who would like to share their story, veteran artists, and submit photos to be included in the exhibit. Please share with interested parties.
