Honoring Juneteenth: Freedom, Progress, and the Power of Black Business

As we commemorate Juneteenth, we honor the legacy of freedom, resilience, and progress while recognizing the ongoing importance of economic opportunity for Black communities.

We remain committed to supporting local chambers, businesses, and organizations across our state through advocacy, connection, and growth. Juneteenth reminds us that freedom and economic empowerment go hand in hand.

We encourage our members and partners to reflect on this important day by supporting Black-owned businesses, participating in community and business events, and staying engaged in advancing opportunity statewide.

From all of us at The California African American Chamber of Commerce (CAACC), we wish you a meaningful and inspiring Juneteenth.

Black Music Month is a time to recognize the lasting business, cultural, and global impact of African Americans on the music industry.

The influence of Black artists, producers, executives, and entrepreneurs is woven into the foundation of modern music. Their contributions have helped shape California’s creative economy, strengthened America’s cultural leadership, and influenced audiences and industries around the world.

From the development of entire genres to the growth of recording, touring, publishing, media, and entertainment ecosystems, African Americans have played a defining role in building the music industry as we know it. Their creativity has driven innovation, generated economic opportunity, and produced cultural influence that extends far beyond music alone.

As we observe Black Music Month, it is important to celebrate not only artistic achievement, but also the leadership, vision, and entrepreneurship behind that success. Honoring this legacy also means continuing to invest in equity, access, and opportunity for the next generation of Black creators and industry leaders.
