You can’t erase history. You have to learn from it. As the slavery exhibit at the President’s House in Philadelphia is restored, it’s a reminder that public spaces, and the truth, belong to the people. Our public lands tell the full American story: our triumphs, the injustices, our progress, and our pain.
When history is minimized or rewritten, we lose the chance to understand where we’ve been and how to move forward.
Public lands are more than places to explore. They are living classrooms, holding stories of Indigenous stewardship, enslavement, resistance, conservation, and community.
At Power In Nature, we believe protecting public lands means protecting the truth rooted in them.
Stewardship isn’t just about acres. It’s about honesty — so future generations can learn from the full arc of our history and build something better.
