The Crown CARES (Creating A Respectful Environment in Schools and Society) educational program was developed by author Deb Landry and the official platform of the Maine Academic Scholarship Program, a program of the nonprofit Crossroads Youth Center. An organization that fosters awareness, ongoing current event education, and teaching tolerance for a safe environment. WE:
•Provide a platform to sp
read awareness on the most crucial issue facing children, youth, teens, and families in today’s society, using the developmental assets. This program includes positive social behaviors such as being Fair, Kind, Caring, Honest, Courageous, Responsible, Respectful, Compassionate, learning Self Care and the ability to be good community members.
•Enhance awareness and participation as a peer or ambassador program.
•Offer a venue for youth to perform community service with and for their peers and adults to be role models.
•Empowering young people to make a difference in their community by example and education.
