Maine Academic Scholarship Pageant

Maine Academic Scholarship Pageant A program of Crossroads and Maine's only 501c3 Scholarship Pageant for all ages. Crossroads offers annual academic scholarships and awards to Maine youth.

The Maine Academic Scholarship Program is a fundraiser for Crossroads Youth Center a 501c3 nonprofit organization. Scholarships are academic achievement, community service, and art-based. Rules and guidelines for each scholarship category apply.

1. Crossroads Scholarships and Awards: Young men and women who are seniors in high school or in college can apply for a scholarship annually. More than

one scholarship may be awarded depending on donations and fundraising. The student must be in good standing at a Maine high school and have been accepted to a college, or be a Maine resident in good standing at an accredited college. Requirements are academic achievement, community service, an overview of participation in the arts, an essay, and/or a resume. More details may be obtained by contacting Crossroads each May for what will be made available. We offer three scholarships and awards annually for which boys or girls may apply: the Unite Award, Christenbury Community Service Scholarship, and the David R. Loeser Memorial Scholarship. The amount is determined by the funds available if any. Awards may be given without a monetary value and if scholarships are granted the amount is at the discretion of Crossroads.
2. Maine Academic Scholarship Program Awards: Certain awards and scholarships are made available through colleges or National Programs. These are prizes and scholarships that may be awarded for girls competing in the American Women of Service and Young American Women of Service sponsored by Crossroads. The Miss Maine Academic Program produces and offers competitions for young women ages 4-25 and 25-99. Awards and Scholarships are available to all participants in many different forms which include and are not limited to college scholarships, scholarships to the national pageant, service scholarships, and/or, in-kind donations. Awards and scholarships may vary from year to year depending on availability. Awards may be given without a monetary value and if scholarships are granted the amount is at the discretion of Crossroads.

Our girls were on the news!📺👑

We posted a couple days ago about Savanna and Olivia’s book, Olivia and the Color of Kindness. Today, they got to share their story with the world!🌎
We’re so inspired by their kindness and braveness and so happy that they are on this journey together🩷

WOW — our titleholders amaze us more and more everyday!

Our Miss Maine, Savanna, and bestie Olivia are now published book authors!📚
Savanna has had the opportunity of caring for Olivia since they met at a daycare when Olivia was 6 weeks old! There, they grew inseparable and they have been the best of friends since!

Savanna said, “This project came straight from the heart. When Olivia was bullied for her skin tone, it stopped me in my tracks. I knew we couldn’t stay silent — we needed to turn that pain into purpose. With Olivia’s help, we decided to tell her story in a way that could help other kids feel seen, valued, and proud of who they are.
Olivia and the Colors of Kindness follows Olivia, a biracial girl growing up in a small coastal town where she sometimes feels different. When unkind words make her question where she belongs, Olivia discovers that her strength comes from her family, her cultures, and her history. 💛
This book is about:
🌈 Inclusion
💬 How your skin tone doesn’t define you
💪 Courage, kindness, and self-acceptance
It means everything to me to share a story that reminds children that being different is powerful — and that embracing who you are helps you grow strong and proud.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us on this journey. We hope this story reaches the kids who need it most 🤍”

A local news crew has also reached out in hopes to speak with them about their book! Stay on the lookout for that interview!👀

How inspiring are they?!? We’re SO proud of you girls!☀️

Yesterday, our Director Miss Michele, had her “fun” pageant (no obligations or strings attached) in her home town of Jonesport — The Annual Miss Maine Lobster Queen Pageant!🦞
Sickness and other troubles didn’t allow some of the contestants to join the fun but with everybody that was able to come, it was such a great day full of smiles and laughter! Her farthest contestants traveled 3.5 hours!
Each year, all proceeds are donated to a charity of Michele’s choosing. This year she was able to donate to Art in the Library at Peabody Memorial Library — a program that purchases art materials for schools in their area.🎨🖌️
She had so many MASP helpers there to judge and help! We’re beyond glad they were able to join the fun-filled day! Congratulations to all the contestants!👑
