A huge THANK YOU to North South Jiu Jitsu for their incredibly generous donation of mac and cheese to 5 Loaves Ministries!

Our families LOVE mac and cheese, and honestly, it flies off our shelves faster than just about anything else. It's affordable, easy to prepare, kid-approved, and one of those comfort foods that always brings a smile.

Because of your generosity, more families in our community will have a little extra food on the table and a little less to worry about this week.

School is out for summer… but hunger isn’t.

For many local children, school breakfast is one of the most dependable meals they receive each day. During the summer months, families face the added burden of providing extra meals while already struggling to make ends meet.

That’s why 5 Loaves Ministries is launching our 🇺🇸 Stars, Stripes & Cereal Drive 🇺🇸 from June 1 – July 6!

We are collecting unopened boxes/bags of cereal to help feed children and families in need this summer.

Some of our spectacular Wylie ISD graduates recently received the sweetest send-off as they celebrated the end of an incredible school year. ❤️🤗

These students worked so hard all year long, building workplace and life skills through their partnership with 5 Loaves Ministries in Sachse. To celebrate their accomplishments, the students enjoyed a home-cooked lunch hosted by Rebekah Rogers and Stephanie Hewitt, shared lots of hugs, and reflected on the impact they’ve made in our community.

Throughout the year, these students helped serve thousands of Wylie ISD students and families by packing and delivering food to campuses and community organizations. Their hard work, kindness, and dedication have truly made a difference.

We are so thankful to 5 Loaves Ministries for not only providing students with opportunities to learn workplace skills but also for creating a place where they feel supported, encouraged, and prepared for the future. This heartwarming celebration was a beautiful reminder of what community is all about. 💙

A teenager’s future can change with one opportunity, one mentor, and one new skill learned.

That’s why we created Healthy Kids, Healthy Choices for our client's, a summer program designed to help teens ages 13–17 build real-life skills that can impact the direction of their future.

Throughout the week, students learn about:
✔ Nutrition & healthy living
✔ Mental health
✔ Budgeting & financial skills
✔ Leadership
✔ Social & business skills
✔ Career pathways after high school

More importantly, they learn that they are capable of building a bright future.

✨ Week 1 is officially FULL! ✨
But we still have a few spots remaining in our other 3 summer sessions.

If you know a teen who could benefit from encouragement, practical life skills, and positive mentors this summer, we would love to have them join us.

Because changing a future sometimes starts with simply believing in a child enough to invest in them.

We are excited to share that our Executive Director, Rebekah Rodgers, recently graduated from an 8-week Nonprofit Management Certification Course hosted at the North Texas Food Bank and presented by the The Center for Nonprofit Management - CNM

Throughout the course, Rebekah joined fellow nonprofit leaders from across North Texas for in-depth training focused on nonprofit operations, leadership, strategy, fundraising, organizational management, and building stronger, more sustainable organizations.

At 5 Loaves Ministries, we believe that investing in leadership ultimately strengthens the way we serve our community. The knowledge, tools, and connections gained through this program will help us continue growing our impact as we serve families facing food insecurity and hardship throughout our area.

A huge thank you to the North Texas Food Bank and the Center for Nonprofit Management for creating opportunities like this for nonprofit leaders in our community!

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. 🇺🇸

Memorial Day is more than the unofficial start of summer—it is a day of reflection, gratitude, and remembrance for the sacrifices made so that we can enjoy the freedoms we often take for granted.

In observance of Memorial Day, 5 Loaves Ministries will be closed today as we take time to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

We will resume normal operations tomorrow.

Please join us in remembering our fallen heroes and keeping their families in our hearts today. ❤️🤍💙

💛 This is COMMUNITY! Ferah Smokehouse & Cantina hosted a Patio Party for us in April and donated back a portion of the sales, we ended up raising an amazing $1123!!

Thank you to everyone who showed up at the party, donated Mac n Cheese to stock the pantry & celebrated the night with us!

Huge THANK YOU to the amazing students from Wylie East High School LEAD for spending part of their Friday serving alongside us at 5 Loaves! 💛

These students showed up ready to work, serve, laugh, and make a difference for families in our community and they absolutely delivered!

As they wrap up another school year, we just want to celebrate the kind, hardworking, community-minded young people they are becoming. The future looks pretty bright with students like these leading the way ☀️
