Hey everyone!!

It has been a while I know. I have been living life and staying happy and healthy. I hope you all are doing the same. I have been back to Cleveland for a check up and all is good. Everything is as it should be. My lungs are clear and fully functioning. My liver is doing what it needs to be doing. My eyes are white there is breath in my lungs all is great. I have been blessed with my transplant. I know things could have went bad and I know there are others who have complications after their transplant. I have been lucky and Everything is going great. I go back to Cleveland in May. Hopefully then they will push appointments back to every 6 months instead of every 3 months.

What a year it has been! There have been ups and downs, times when I didn't think I could go any farther, and times when I felt like I could move mountains. This year I feel like I have grown more as a person than I have any other year. I've learned more about myself and how I want to live my life, more about what I can and can't do now. I had to learn how to take care of myself all over again with my new organs. I feel like a total different person than I was last year.

Thank you all for staying with me through it all. All of your encouraging words and prayers have helped me get to where I am today. I hope in this last year I have been able to help some of you go through things just like all of you have helped me. They said the first year would be the hardest and I feel like it has been.

Here's to a new year with many more journeys and adventures to come!!🎉🥂

One year! One year ago I got the phone call that changed my life. One year ago I went into surgery scared I wouldn't come out. One year ago I got my new lungs and liver. It has been one year of finally being able to breathe. My lung function is at 94%, I have no rejection in my lungs or liver, I'm finally living and not surviving.

To my donor. Thank you. I can't say that enough. Thank you seems so small compared to the gift you gave me. I will wear my scars with pride in honor of you. You gave me my life back and I couldn't be more greatful. I will live my life with you always on my mind and I will do my best to honor you and live for you too.

Now I get to move into the next part of my life and really live. Life here I come!!

19 years ago this man came into my life. For 9 years he took care of me and taught me that quality of life is more important than quantity. I have lived by that ever since, living the best life I can while I'm still here and breathing. He will forever be in my heart and me and my family in his debt. Thank you Dr. Russell Hirsch for all you have done for me. I am here today because of you. All other doctors I have seen have not and will never live up to the standard of care and compassion you set. I hope you have the best life in New Orleans and help others just as you have helped me.

Hey everyone!!!

Sorry I haven't posted sooner. After my appointments in Cleveland I got really sick due to a shot they gave me to raise my white blood cells. I'm not sure if I had some kind of reaction or what but it made me very sick. I'm still trying to get all my strength back but I am doing much better from it.

Now to results. I am doing very good with lung function at 80% now and no rejection. The doctors are happy with my progress and if 80% is my new normal they are happy with it but they do hope I improve more.

Also, today marks 8 months since my transplant surgery. 8 months with my new lungs and liver. I can't believe it's already been 8 months. I look back at what I went through and it even amazes me at how far I've come.

My next appointments are in November. I'm doing so good I'm now at 3 months for doctors appointments instead of every 6 weeks. My next appointment I will hand in my letter to my donor family. This is one letter that has been weighing on my mind all year. I don't even know where to begin with it. I'm probably over thinking it but it hard to find the works to say when I believe thank you is no where near enough to say for such a life changing donation.

Anyway, I'm sure I'll figure it out. 8 months down and the rest of my life to go!!!🎉
