2016 has been an amazing year at JHC and we are so grateful to all our Preservationist supporters! Thanks to your help, we moved our meadow and garden projects forward. JHC announced Friday that it has signed a license agreement with Westchester County to assume responsibility for the full restoration and long-term maintenance of the historic John Jay Property in Rye. Read more about the partnership in the following article:

A public-private partnership will allow JHC to function as a 501(c) 3 and keep tax payers from covering maintenance and restoration of the historic site.

We couldn't have wished for a better day yesterday at Jay Day 2012. Thanks to everyone who turned out for a fun family day! Check out this great coverage in The Journal News:

Dozens of people turned out for an old-fashioned family day on the farm and fundraiser to help restore the Jay mansion and homestead. 'It is fun and the money goes to a good cause,' said Scott Wallach of Rye as his 3-year-old daughter, Emery, splashed a pumpkin with paint.

A tenacious group of women (and a few tiny Preservationists, too!) weeded, swept, tidied and planted, giving the Jay Mansion and Carriage House a cheerful injection of color and greenery, just in time for summer.

Looking forward to the Earth Day Children's Workshop tomorrow at 3:30pm at the Carriage House. Forecast looks great so we will hold some of the activities outside. Hope to see you there!
