All contributions made to the Sole Ryeders Fund at FJC are fully deductible to the extent allowed by the IRS, as FJC is a registered 501(c)3.

SOUL RYEDERS® provides personalized resources, innovative programs and community support to anyone in the New York Tri-State area impacted by any type of cancer. THROUGH OUR VARIOUS ACTIVITIES WE:

Assess unmet cancer-related needs in our community and develop programs to address them

Award grants to support initiatives at other local cancer-related organizations

Promote cancer awareness and

prevention

Provide individualized resources and emotional support for those in our community diagnosed with cancer

Offer a variety of community service opportunities for all who want to get involved

HOW WE RAISE FUNDS:

With the help of our children, friends, family, and neighbors, we spread the word about our mission and raise money for our various programs. Our fundraising activities include seeking personal donations for our annual participation in the 2-day 39 mile Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, securing sponsorships from local merchants, and organizing a wide range of fundraising events. The Sole Ryeders Fund is maintained at FJC (www.fjc.org), a foundation of charitable funds which provides comprehensive management of charitable dollars and giving. WHERE WE MAKE A DIFFERENCE:

All ribbons purchased will be delivered and tied by one of over 100 volunteers to more than 2,000 homes, businesses and public spaces for the month of October! Every ribbon is a visible symbol of hope, compassion, and community. By tying ribbons throughout our neighborhoods, we come together in support of every individual, family, and caregiver impacted by cancer.

We are proud recipients of a 2026 grant from the Rye Presbyterian Church Women’s Association!

The RPC Thrift Shop volunteers work all year raising funds to grant local nonprofits. We are so grateful for their continued support and acknowledgement of our efforts for those affected by a cancer diagnosis.

This grant will help support our Care Package program. It will allow us to continue gathering practical and comfort items for clients in active treatment that will be delivered right to their doorsteps by our amazing volunteers.

We were thrilled to welcome four wonderful high school seniors for their senior internship this past month!

They assisted with projects, prepared care packages, and participated in school visits while learning about Soul Ryeders and gaining insight into the day-to-day operations of a local nonprofit organization.

A big thank you to Sophia Ambrosini, Sara Takeuchi, Felino Ypon, and Parker Masset for their hard work, enthusiasm, and dedication during their time with us! We congratulate them on their graduation and wish them all the best as they head off to college this fall!

We loved celebrating our amazing volunteers this week at our annual volunteer thank you lunch! 💙

This incredible group dedicated nearly 2,700 hours of service this past year, along with countless acts of kindness!

From crafting handmade items, cooking meals, delivering care packages, supporting race weekend, and helping in the office, to advising/mentoring clients, and so much more.

No matter the role, every volunteer enthusiastically shares in our mission to help clients and families feel supported, connected, and less alone.

Thank you for showing up with such heart. You make everything we do possible! 👏🏻

We’re so grateful to for generously providing gift cards for our client care packages. Between doctor visits, treatments, and the everyday challenges that come with a diagnosis, having access to a delicious meal can offer comfort, convenience, and one less thing to worry about!

Thank you, Wonder, for helping us nourish our community and reminding our clients that they are supported every step of the way ❤️

Our care packages contained homemade tomato soup and lemon bars courtesy of our incredible volunteers! Our clients were delivered up multiple meals they don’t need to think about which means more time for healing 🥰

National Cancer Survivors Day 💪🏻✨

Every day looks different for someone living with cancer and often means facing a wide variety of challenges.

Our goal is to get to know you, understand what matters most to you, and find meaningful ways to help you reach your goals. We aim to bring a sense of calm to the chaos, and offer guidance to help you regain a sense of control and identity.

For many of our clients, reclaiming control means returning to activities that bring them joy and a sense of accomplishment.

Here are a few of our amazing clients who joined us last month for our annual Half Marathon & 5K, a powerful reminder of resilience, determination, community, and what’s possible with support along the way.

We are incredibly proud and inspired to be part of their experience!

Each week, our live virtual Yoga4Cancer (Y4C) classes provide our clients with a gentle, supportive, compassionate space to help reduce stress and anxiety, restore strength and flexibility, and manage cancer treatment side effects.

Led by certified Y4C instructor Shannon DiNota, the classes are designed specifically for individuals during and after treatment, offering healing movements with modifications and pacing as needed.
