Hard to believe it’s been 2 years since we lost a major member of our community and our brother. We walk by this everyday, every shift change, every call, and we remember you. RIP Lieutenant.

We are rallying to support one of our own, his wife, and their family during a difficult & complex medical journey. John has been a firefighter & EMT with Rye Fire Rescue for over 20 years, a key player in our organization, and friend to many. His wife a long time 911 dispatcher & CPR Instructor serving the New Hampshire seacoast. We remain supportive and optimistic.

To our Seacoast Community, here is a link to the Meal Train website so you can donate gift cards to Door Dash, cash donations or make a meal & deliver:

Given news of Gail's illness and potential long stay in hospital, we are reaching out to the Rye Fire Department Association Members and the Community to help with grocery costs and food delivery for the next month. We will reassess what John and Gail will need going forward. Thank you for anything....

💗🚒 Breast Cancer Awareness Month 🚒💗

For the Professional Fire Fighters of Rye, Local 4411, the fight against breast cancer is not just a cause—it’s personal. One of our own union family members is currently battling this disease, and we stand beside them with unwavering love, strength, and support.

Firefighters are trained to run toward challenges, never away from them. Today, that courage takes a different form. It means lifting up our brothers and sisters in their darkest hours, reminding them they are not alone in this fight.

This October, we wear pink not only to raise awareness, but to honor every survivor, support those still fighting, and remember those we’ve lost. We encourage our community to join us: schedule screenings, spread awareness, and reach out to those who may need your strength.

To our family member, and to all who are fighting—your courage inspires us every day. Together, we are stronger. Together, we will never stop fighting.

A heartfelt thank you to the City of Portsmouth and the City of Portsmouth New Hampshire Fire Department for lighting up the Memorial Bridge red in honor of all fallen firefighters. This tribute means so much — especially as we remember and honor our own, Lt. Chuck Gallant.

Attacks on his character were what finally led Fire Chief Jason Lajoie to resign from the job he loves.

Today marks the one year anniversary of Chuck’s passing. This year has been difficult in so many ways. Losing such an important person in this union, fire department, and town has been apparent everyday throughout this year. Chuck’s impact as a Lieutenant, member of the community, friend, and most of all a dedicated family man will be remeberd forever. Missing you today and always - 4411

Portsmouth Regional Hospital Trauma Services has kindly agreed to teach a free Stop the Bleed class open to the public!

While this is a skill we hope you never have to use, being prepared to “stop the bleed” can make all the difference during an emergency. We hope to see you there!
