American persimmons are generally dioecious - meaning male to female reproductive flowers grow on separate trees - but some can be bisexual and can change gender. Why ? Mysterious and curious 👀- trees are flowering now and at different stages- the one tree I have that is a super abundant fruit producing has larger looking female flowers. Pictures here I think are the smaller male with stamens. Lots of medicinal uses - flower - fruit - leaves - bark.

Wow what a big day. Thank you to everyone who bought a ticket in the sweepstakes to win a trip to Bhutan. On the cover of this year’s journal is the medicine Buddha and wow do we need this medicine now in this moment. The theme is the journal 📓 is how we learn about plants 🌱 and there are some wonderful deep dives - as well as stories from Oman - India - Vietnam- the Amazon and of course Bhutan. Filled with art - poetry and recipes and magic. 🪄 this paired with a warm cup of tea 🍵 and perhaps a hot 🛀…… is just what the herbal dr prescribed…… thank you to everyone who contributed and the community of plant lovers!!!!
