Last week, the Pine Hill Service Unit held our annual Juliette Gordon Low/Halloween Party, commemorating Juliette, the founder of Girl Scouts, whose birthday was on October 31, and had an enjoyable time celebrating Halloween!

Last weekend, Troop 64950 embarked on their first camp out of the year, featuring an exciting array of activities including archery, stargazing through a telescope, making s'mores and singing around the campfire! Much fun was had by all!

On Saturday, a bunch of girls from Pine Hill service unit attended the Geek is Glam STEM event hosted by Girl Scouts of Central and Western Massachusetts (GSCWM). The event had over 350 Girl Scouts diving into the exciting worlds of science, technology, engineering, and math!

From one inspiring session to the next, kids explored, experimented, created, and discovered just how powerful STEM can be, not only in their futures but in shaping a better world for everyone.

A HUGE thank-you to the amazing presenters and volunteers who gave their time, energy, and expertise to bring STEM to life. You sparked curiosity, lit up imaginations, and showed our Girl Scouts what’s possible.

This week, Rutland Junior Troop 65241 had the pleasure of learning about animal habitats with Mass Audubon at Wachusett Meadow Farm in Princeton! They observed various habitats, discovered the essential needs of animals for survival in the wild, and even constructed animal habitats utilizing only natural materials!

The girls successfully earned their Animal Habitats badge and are progressing towards completing their Outdoor Journey!

One of our Juniors from Rutland tried the new cookie at council in Worcester today! She LOVED it! She said it tastes like a brownie with frosting! This cookie is inspired by Rocky Road ice cream and tastes amazing!

Emily, a Girl Scout in Rutland, is working to complete her Girl Scout Gold Award and needs your help!

As part of her effort to help spread understanding and awareness of mental illness, including OCD, she has written a short fantasy book (only about 50 pages!) where the heroine has to face her own struggles with OCD.

She is looking for volunteers to fill out the surveys below, before and after reading the book. Please consider participating and helping her both spread awareness and achieve her Gold Award!
