Looking for a way to volunteer your sewing skills?
Help us promote parent & infant bonding in the NICU by sewing bonding scent hearts!
We would like to have fabric that is gender neutral or for a specific holiday.
These 100% cotton flannel scent hearts are given to NICU parents to wear next to their skin, absorbing their scents. The hearts are taken to the NICU and placed next to the infant where they can be soothed by their parent's scent and aid in bonding, even when parent cannot be at the bedside. They are provided in sets of two to allow the hearts to be switched out as needed.
Scent hearts should be made from 100% cotton flannel and measure approximately 5 inches by 5 inches. 1 yard cut of fabric will yield approximately 16 hearts.
All handmade items should be made in a clean, smoke‐free, pet‐free environment.
