The Dodge House VT

The Dodge House VT The Dodge House: Veteran's Assistance Office is a transitional home for Veteran's facing homelessness

We are a transitional house for veterans who are facing homelessness within the Rutland, VT community and surrounding area. We are able to house up to 5 male and 3 female, or 1 female and her children, at any given time. We also have a non-perishable food pantry and a clothing garage that we offer for free to any veteran in need, or their direct family member, regardless of housing status.

I want to take a moment to thank our volunteer, Becky Field.
Becky has came in and started cleaning up our 2 garden plots out back and has planted some tomatoes, so far, for our residents.
Thank you for your dedication to the property, our residents, and the veteran community.

We want to thank the Vietnam Veterans of America and the Community Members who stopped by The Dodge House for our Open House.

Guests were given a brief history of The Dodge House and a tour of our facility, including our Food Shelf and Boot & Shoe Program that are open, not only to our residents, but to all Veterans in the community who are in need.

A special thank you to Executive Director Kim Jarrait's children, and Mount Saint Joseph Academy students, Corbin and Marlee Chadburn, for volunteering to greet our guests.

If you were unable to make it and still want more information about who we are, our mission, volunteer opportunities, or donation opportunities, please reach out to (802)775-6772

☕ $5 Friday at the Dodge House 🇺🇸

What does $5 get you these days?
A cup of coffee… maybe a quick snack… something small you won’t think twice about.

But here at the Dodge House, that same $5 can mean something so much bigger.

💙 It can help provide a warm meal for a veteran
💙 It can help stock essential household supplies
💙 It can help keep the lights on and the doors open
💙 It can offer stability, dignity, and support to someone who has served our country

Every single dollar matters here. There’s no “too small” when it comes to making a difference.

So this Friday, we’re asking:
👉 Skip one coffee
👉 Give that $5 instead
👉 Be part of something meaningful

Because when a community comes together, even the smallest contributions create real impact.

We at the Dodge House want to send a heartfelt thank you to members of the Rutland Elks Lodge for their generous donation.

They donated $2,000 worth of move-out supplies for our veterans. This makes a difference when they leave her to permanent housing. A worry they do not have about how to outfit their apartments with essentials.

Between dish sets, air fryers, cleaning supplies, mop systems, broom and dust pan sets and so much more, we are able to send our veterans onto permanent housing with a fresh start.

Thank you Rutland Elks Lodge

Today we would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Norwich University American Legion Post #1819 for their incredibly generous donation of $750 to support the Dodge House.

This donation will help fund Dodge House operations for March, allowing us to continue our missing of providing safe, stable supportive transitional housing and services for homeless veterans in our community. Contributions like this help us cover daily essentials such as food, utilities, household supplies, and many of our behind-the-scene costs that allow us to keep our doors open every single day. Because of this generosity, the men and women at the Dodge House can focus on rebuilding their lives, working towards independence, and finding permanent housing. 🇺🇸

If you or your organization would also like to support the Dodge House, you can do so by sponsoring a day, a weekend, a week, a holiday, or even a full month of operations. Every donation -- big or small -- directly impacts the lives of the veterans we serve.

To learn more about how to give, please reach out to us through this page. Together, we can continue to make sure that no veteran in our community faces homelessness alone.

$5 Fridays for The Dodge House
Every Friday, join the community in making a difference for local veterans. For just $5 — about the cost of a cup of coffee — a small act of kindness can go a long way toward helping those who served.

What $5 Can Do
Each $5 donation helps keep The Dodge House running and supports the veterans who call it home. Every contribution helps with:

Heating and electricity to keep the house warm and bright
Groceries and daily essentials for residents
Case management and support services
Maintenance and upkeep of the home
How It Works
Set aside $5 each Friday.
Visit The Dodge House page to donate.
Share the post and encourage friends to join the $5 Fridays movement.
Why It Matters
The Dodge House provides transitional housing and support for homeless veterans, helping them rebuild their lives with dignity and stability. A simple $5 gift each week helps ensure that no veteran is left without a safe place to stay or a warm meal to eat.

Together, small donations create big change.
Join the mission. Give $5 this Friday and stand with our veterans.
