Look at the precision! 👀 Our students got hands-on with the da Vinci Surgical System - 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒔𝒕𝒖𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒍 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒈𝒖𝒊𝒅𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒓𝒐𝒃𝒐𝒕𝒊𝒄 𝒊𝒏𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒇𝒖𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝒕𝒊𝒆 𝒂 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒊𝒏 𝒂 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒄𝒕 𝒕𝒘𝒐 𝒃𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒔 𝒕𝒐𝒈𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓. The precision and maneuvering were incredible! 🤯

Experiences like this show how robotics and engineering are transforming healthcare and open our students’ eyes to exciting STEM career possibilities beyond traditional robotics.

🤖 🩺 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲!
The IBOTS had an AMAZING experience exploring the world of robot-assisted surgery at the Rutland Regional Medical Center's Informational session at The Paramount Theatre today! Our students got hands-on experience using the da Vinci Surgical System from Intuitive Surgical, experimenting with both the simulator software and real test items.

From controlling the robotic instruments to talking with surgeons and an Intuitive Surgical representative, our students got an exciting, firsthand look at the technology transforming modern healthcare and the many career opportunities in this growing field. Our students were amazed by the precision and control of the robotic system! One of our students was able to tie a string into a knot and connect two bands together by controlling the robotic arms. 🤯

Experiences like this show how the skills we develop through FIRST Robotics connect to so many exciting careers beyond the robot field!

West Coast Tour complete. Our head mentor traveled west to volunteer at The Chezy Champs, visited Swerve Drive Specialties, Bear Metal and Citrus Circuits. Thank you Team 254: The Cheesy Poofs, , and FRC Team 1678: Citrus Circuits for welcoming us, giving us tours of your spaces, talking to us and inspiring us. The programs, processes and the spaces you have built are impressive. Watching your student leaders guide their peers with confidence and skill is a model for FIRST. We really appreciate your time and look forward to our paths crossing again in the future.

Our lead mentor is on a West Coast robotics trip that began with volunteering at the practice field at the Chezy Champs this past weekend. It was great to connect with all the tremendous teams at this event and see robot lab, machine shop and practice field (which is under a bridge!?!?). The Cheesy Poofs were great hosts and we appreciate them welcoming us to their event.

What a beautiful day for robots and whoopie pies! The IBOTS had a fantastic time at The 5th Annual Whoopie Pie Festival in Rutland meeting kids, families, community members—and even the VT Lieutenant Governor!

We loved sharing the excitement of FIRST Robotics and helping spread the word about the amazing K–12 robotics programs offered by Rutland Area Robotics to students throughout Rutland County.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who stopped by to check things out, ask questions, and—of course—take a turn on the controls and drive the robot! 🎮 The excitement, enthusiasm, and smiling faces truly made our day!

Getting ready for Whoopie Pie Festival and welcoming new students! Lots of positive energy in the STEM Lab tonight as we welcomed new students and tuned up our robots for Whoopie Pie Festival.

Stop by the Whoopie Pie Festival on Saturday Sept 12th in downtown Rutland from 12pm-4pm to see our robots in action and learn more about all the different robotics programs available to youth in grades k-12 in Rutland County.
