ers who share an interest in the activities of the society. Our activities include summertime dinner dances, dances, barbeques, guest speakers, folk dance groups potluck meals, and other events that promote Finnish heritage in a social setting.

The Finnish Heritage Society Sovittaja is celebrating the 100th anniversary of Sovittaja Park in Rutland, Massachusetts. The park and its hall have been home to outdoor games, social events, barbecues, and dances on an old world crafted high quality dance floor. The following events are open to the public and are an opportunity to participate in the Finnish cultural heritage.

August 23 - Coffee with the Finns with Finnish sweets will be offered at 2 p.m. Due to unforeseen circumstances, our guest speaker Lisa Tarkiainen Steele is unable to be present that day. There is no charge but donations will be appreciated.

Please join us this summer and experience a little bit of Finland in Central Massachusetts.
All events are sponsored, in part, by the Cultural Fund of the Finnish Heritage Society Sovittaja to celebrate the park’s 100th anniversary and share the Finnish culture and heritage with the community.

UPDATE.

Coffee with the Finns. August 23rd at 2pm.
Free of charge but donations will be accepted. Come have Finnish coffee and sweets with a few local Finns. We will be serving Pulla, Almond cake, Cardamom cake, Finnish Rye bread with optional butter and cheese. A typical afternoon coffee.

Unfortunately featured speaker Lisa Tarkianen Steele had to cancel.

As always, Open to the public.
