Right before the movie, Joan Gamble, our local champion of the Imagination Library at Rutland Free Library, took to stage dressed as Dolly, (and looking fabulous). She gave an inspiring speech on how we all should be more like Dolly in our everyday lives which is worth listening to. Bravo 👏 Joan!

Over 200 people were clapping, laughing, cheering, and stomping at last night’s screening of the unforgettable film “9-5” at The Paramount Theatre. Our beloved Dolly Parton was one of its stars, and the movie was a fundraiser to benefit our local Dolly Parton Imagination Library at the Rutland Free Library.

We are grateful to those who showed up to what felt like a real movie premiere, many who dropped donations in our Dolly Buckets, and a HUGE shout out to Eric Mallette and the Paramount Theatre.

It was definitely a “Night to Remember!”

TONIGHT, September 29th at 7pm is a BIG NIGHT for our local Imagination Library. The Paramount Theatre, will be showing the hilarious and iconic film, "9-5" . This movie features Dolly herself in her first feature film role. Tickets are just $5.00 and can be purchased at the door or at www.paramountvt.org

The movie will also be a fundraiser for our local Imagination Library. For the past 5 years we have mailed close to 28,000 free, age appropriate, books to children under 5 in Rutland City, Rutland Town, Ira, Mendon, and Tinmouth. We want to keep putting books in the hands of children. There will also be donation boxes in the lobby of the Paramount as well.

Thank you Lindsay Jones from mynbc5 for spotlighting the Imagination Library at Rutland Free Library and our upcoming fundraiser at The Paramount Theatre on Tuesday, 9/29. There will be a special screening of Dolly’s first feature film, “9-5” at 7pm. Tickets are only $5.00 and can purchased at the door or at www.paramountvt.org.

Today, 9-2-5 is Dolly Day which is dedicated to supporting Dolly's local Imagination Library Programs and her extraordinary legacy of inspiring children to read.

The Imagination Library at Rutland Free Library is celebrating our own "Dolly Day" on Tuesday, 9/29 at 7pm with a showing of the iconic film "9-5" at the The Paramount Theatre starring Dolly Parton, Jane Fonda, and Lily Tomlin. Tickets are $5.00 and can be purchased at the door or in advance at www.paramountvt.org

The money raised will go to benefit our local imagination library. In fact after the movie we will have donation boxes in the lobby if you wish to show extra support. We want to help put books into the hands of children in our community.

Another successful open house at Northwest Primary with four registrations for the program! 😄 We seem to be keeping it in the family. Did you know the first 10 seconds of the theme song from the movie "9-5" began with the sound of a typewriter effect created by Dolly Parton rubbing her acrylic fingernails together. That musical intro is seared into our memories.

You can hear that again with the amazing surround sound at The Paramount Theatre. That’s right, in support of Imagination Library at Rutland Free Library, the Paramount will be showing the 1980’s classic movie “9-5” on the big screen starring Dolly Parton, Lily Tomlin, and Jane Fonda, at 7pm on Tuesday, September 29th. Tickets are just $5.00 per person and can be purchased in advance at www.paramountvt.org or at the door. But don’t wait, tickets are going fast.

Not only will you enjoy some first-class entertainment but you will be supporting a program that has mailed 27,924 free, age-appropriate books to children under five in Rutland City, Rutland Town, Ira, Mendon, and Tinmouth since April 2021.
