We will be having a SAQA (Studio Art Quilts Associates) information table at our show. Several members belong and are passionate about this organization, so come and learn more. Our invitational quilter, Pam Druhen, is a member and you can see some of her work on the SAQA website. www.saqa.com

If the quilts shown at the February Guild meeting "show-n-tell" are any example of the quilts that will be at the Festival of Quilts, it will be one fabulous show! (Of course!)

Good news! We now have 11 vendors who will be at our quilt show! Check out our list on our website www.mapleleafquilters.org

The Maple Leaf Quilters Guild is based in Rutland, Vermont. Approximately 80 members create everything from traditional pieced quilts to art quilts, using techniques including, but limited to, delicate hand quilting, dramatic machine quilting, precise applique and paper piecing.

Our Festival of Quits is March 31st from 9-5 and Sunday April 1st from 10-4. We will be having some special things happening on the first, because our quilt show is "No April Fools Joke!"

Our quilt show is one of the first spring shows in New England. We usually have over 150 quilts on display, including those made by guild quilters, antique quilts, youth quilts and quilts made from MLQ block of the month winners.

Many guild members, their families and friends were affected by tropical storm Irene that devestated parts of Vermont. Recognizing that quilts not only can tell a story, but are also are a way that quilters process through events, the Guild Challenge is “Irene: Putting the Pieces Back Together”
A Silent Auction of select challenge quilts with proceeds to Benefit the Vermont Disaster Relief Fund is planned in conjunction with the exhibit of challenge quilts. The only requirement for the challenge is that two specific fabrics (available from the MLQ Challenge committee) be included and that the item consist of three layers, secured together. Preregistration is required.
