Rutherfordton NC, Rutherford County Seat, celebrated it's 225th Anniversary beginning April 14, 2012 with a birthday party on the courthouse lawn. Events celebrating different aspects of the town/county's history and heritage were celebrated through December 2012. The project was endorsed by Rutherfordton Town Council and had volunteers from across the county that worked to make 2012 a grand year of celebration.
