Angels 4 Siberians

Angels 4 Siberians Non profit rescue and sanctuary for abandoned, senior and special needs dogs with a focus on the northern breeds.

We are a small rescue that operates out of our homes with our own funds and we are dedicated to giving misplaced, abused, abandoned and otherwise unwanted animals a second chance for a caring, healthy, peaceful life. Angels4Siberians rescues dogs from immediate peril (kill shelters, abuse, neglect, etc.). We then rehabilitate them physcially, socially and emotionally as well as starting their trai

ning on the road to being a happy, loving, (sometimes obedient), member of their new family. After requiring a thorough screening process to match these pets to a new prospective, loving family we hope that we have done all we can to find them an absolutely perfect, forever home.

Pregnant mom dumped on a nearby back road days before the big freeze came in.We managed to trap her just in time and now 8 new little souls and mom doing well at three weeks. But boy are they a handful! No way to get all these busy little bees in one pic but hopefully we can get them out and catch some fun play time soon♡

Please help if you see one in distress! Even an outbuilding or garage with straw is better than this💔 We passed out straw, took in 2 strays and picked up a mom w/8puppies that someone left at the shelter this week knowing they wouldn't survive this weather. That's in addition to the 14 already here. Is my house a loud mess right now...yes, but that's okay I know how to clean amd the noise is music i can live with knowing they are warm & safe♡

In the next 4-8 weeks, we'll be seeing the "We need to re-home our pet..." posts and messages. These are the people who went ahead and purchased puppies & kittens as Christmas gifts who are suddenly allergic, moving, having a baby, don't have time, their kids won't take care of it, didn't think they'd get so big, blah, blah, blah. Problem is, almost 90% of unwanted pets, sadly end up in kill shelters.
Allow me to break it down for you.
You didn't know you had an allergy? Oops. Don't let the pet suffer, buy some allergy medicine, if you love your pet, it's absolutely worth a shot.
You're moving? What city are you moving to that doesn't allow dogs? Bullshirtville? You have a responsibility to your living, breathing family member to plan ahead to find a house, apartment or condo that will ALLOW your family member. Period. Oh, you had no idea you were due to have a baby in 2 months? Interesting. Get a dog trainer if you're have a puppy or breed you fear might be too energetic. Don't have time for a 15 minute walk, or to have a dog just sit next to you while you're home? Really? So they're better off cowering in a shelter than waiting in your house for you to get home? Wondering what they did wrong and waiting for their number to be called to the euthanasia room? Ok, perhaps get another pet to keep them company or look for a local dog-sitter. Oh, you mean your 5 year old didn't step up to the plate to feed, walk and scoop p**p? And this surprised you? I guess it's time for YOU to step up and model responsibility for your child. You are also showing them how to treat a family member when they grow up and you grow old🤔 Wrong size? Not cute as an adult? Not quite the personality you expected? Look in a mirror, how did you turn out? Should we send you back or maybe just dump you in a shelter? And make no mistake, the shelters and rescues are already full and we are actually over capacity with dog beds instead of a Christmas tree this year! Please remember that pets are a LIFETIME committment♡

Animals are a lifetime committment! Please plan on making them a family member when you bring one home ♡♡♡

I love this version & hope you will too, this applies to all animals not just dogs!

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. The stockings were hung by the chimney with care In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds With no thought of the dog filling their head. And ma in her kerchief, and I in my cap, knew he was cold but didn't care about that.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter. Away to the window I flew like a flash, guessing he was free of his chain & into the trash.

The moon on the crest of the new fallen snow gave the luster of mid-day to objects below. When, what to my wondering eyes should appear, But Santa Claus with his eyes full of tears.

He unchained the dog, once so lively and quick, last year's Christmas present, now painfully thin n sick. More rapid than eagles he called the dogs name. And the dog ran to him, despite all his pain.

"Now DASHER! Now DANCER! Now PRANCER and VIXEN!! On COMET! On CUPID! On DONER and BLITZEN!!

To the top of the porch! To the top of the wall! Let's find this dog a home where he's loved by all" I knew in an instant there would be no gifts this year... For Santa had made one thing quite clear ...

The gift of a dog is not just for a season. We had gotten the pup for all the wrong reasons. In our haste to think of the kids a gift, there was one important thing that we missed.

A dog should be family and cared for the same. You don't give a gift then put it out or on a chain. And I heard him exclaim as he rode out of sight, "You weren't given a gift! You were given a precious life!"

There is potential outbreak of Canine Infectious Respiratory Disease Complex (CIRDC) that is occurring across the country. There have been reports so far of cases in the Chattanooga and Jackson area.

At this time, we are recommending that you try your best to avoid situations in which dogs are in close contact (grooming, boarding, dog park, etc.). CIRDC is very contagious and passes easily from dog to dog. If your dog must be in contact with other dogs, ensure they are up to date on Bordetella, Parainfluenza, +/- Canine Influenza vaccinations.

If your dog begins showing symptoms of CIRDC (coughing, nasal/eye discharge, lethargy, decreased appetite, etc.), isolate them from other dogs and contact your vet asap.

Everyone is full and overflowing! The only way Rescues can make room for more is if you adopt or foster. Food, kennels, beds and vetting are expensive. Please volunteer, share or donate if you can.

A Shelter Dog asks God: Dear God, What is "Time"? I hear the sadness in the voices of workers here. They say my "Time is up", that they have to make room for yet another dog. My "Time" is up. I don't know what that means, God. I only know that my new friends are so sad, and the more I wag my tail---the harder I try to make them feel better---the sadder they become. I know I have heard that word "Time" before, but I don't understand. When I was younger, my people would say "Time to play!" They would throw the ball, and I would run fast. Sometimes I brought it back to them, but other times we'd end up chasing each other having fun. I remember "Time to eat". My people would put down a bowl of food, and I would enjoy dinner, wagging my tail in joy. There was also "Time for your walk". My boy would put my leash on, and we would go walking together, visiting the neighborho od and enjoying each other's company. When I was younger I thought "Time" meant fun. Or maybe Love? I don't understand. "Time" must mean something else, but how can it change, God? Before I came here, I heard my people say, "No time to feed you now, boy. Later, when I get home." Sometimes my family would forget, and there was no food in my bowl. Does "Time" mean when my belly hurts? My people said there was no time for walks. I tried to hold it all day long--but God, I just couldn't anymore. When I finally had to go, it made my family very angry. Does "Time" means anger? Or maybe Loneliness? My family said they didn't have "Time". They didn't have time to play, or time to take me to the vet, or time to go for walks. They didn't have "Time", so they brought me here. Maybe I was right... They said they didn't have time, and if "Time" means Love, how did they lose it? Did I do something wrong? God, I think my new friends are sending me to you. Do you have "Time"? May I sit on the couch? Am I a good Dog, God? Is it "Time"? ============================== ===========
One of the most important things we can give our pets is "Time". The time to love them, care for them, and train them. Animal Shelters and Rescues across the country are filled with pets whose families didn't have "Time". Every year, the "Time is up" for 12 million companion pets. Do you have the "Time" to make a difference?

My pets are not disposable...they are Angels sent from above to give kisses and unconditional love! They may not be perfect but they accept my flaws too. They may have some problems but they trust me to be there for them. No matter what, they deserve to be loved and I promised they could have a forever home. They are not only my pets but a member of my family! This applies to any angel we bring into our rescue as well....they have a home with us until/if i find them a perfect new family!

I'm a little late with my Memorial Day story but it is too special not to share♡

Smoky was a 4 lb, 7 inches tall, Yorkshire Terrier who served in World War II. In 1944 Smoky was found in a foxhole in the jungles of New Guinea by an American soldier who brought her back to camp and sold her to Corporal William A. Wynne for $6.44. For the next 2 years, Smoky lived a soldier's life. Because she was not an official military dog, she did not get dog food or medical care. She shared Wynne’s meals and slept beside him in his tent.
The little dog even flew 12 air/sea rescue and photo reconnaissance missions, secured in the soldier's backpack. She survived at least 150 air raids and saved Wynne by warning him of incoming shells. Like many Yorkies, Smoky also loved to learn tricks and perform. She did so with the Special Services – entertaining and bringing joy to injured soldiers in hospitals. After the war Smoky was flown back to the US hidden in an oxygen mask-carrying case.
For the next 10 years, she made television and public appearances in Veterans' hospitals until her death in 1957. Smoky is considered by many to be the first Therapy Dog.
