To celebrate 🌎Earth Day and Keep Louisiana Beautiful Week 2026, Lincoln Parish 4-H Discovery Project Club in collaboration with Ross Lynn Charitable Foundation is holding a button design contest. We need your help to determine the winner. The winning design will be made into stickers to give out during Love the Boot Week, April 18-26, 2026. More details will come on this.

Lincoln Parish 4-H had three teams for the Louisiana 4-H Northern Region Food Challenge this year! They worked so hard and were very dedicated to their teams and all three did an amazing job during practice and the competition. We are very proud of all of them!

Two of the teams won at regionals and are moving on to the state competition being held in May in Alexandria. Way to go teams!

Division II Team, Gumbo Gators: John Kelly Crittedenden, Davy Crittenden, & Raemie Christofferson won 2nd place.

Division I Team, Blue Prawns: Ahmad Warren, Alena Dean, Van Nash, & George Travis won 3rd place.

We want to give a huge thank you to our LSU AgCenter Lincoln Parish Nutrition and Community Health Agent, Shannan Chevallier, for conducting practices and leading our teams to competition!

To the parents, THANK YOU for making time for practices and helping in every way!

Summer Camp for boys is FULL! We have started a waiting list. To get on the waiting list, you just need to call. If a bed opens up, we will call you and you can come and make your payment then. We will not know if any beds have opened up until the end of April.

We have 10 spaces remaining for girls.

Please remember March 31, 2026 is the last day for events that will count for Achievement Day. If you are short or unsure, these are the only events remaining that will qualify you:
Cooking Contest March 21 at Tractor Supply in Ruston. Details and rules are on the newsletter as well as in the email you will receive later today.

Dairy Poster Contest, rules are on the newsletter.

So if you don't have anything so far and you would like to attend Achievement Day this year, you can do all three of the above things and qualify.

The Lincoln Parish 4-H Winter Treats and Crafts Workshop was Amazing! The 4-Hers learned how to prepare cozy crock pot soups and dips and created some fun winter themed treats and crafts. They each received a slow cooker of their own to use at home to make some warm dishes with their families! Huge thank you to our 4-H Jr. Leaders, Katelyn, Morgan, Paisley, Raelyn, Raemie, Riley, and Sydney! They did an awesome job leading the younger 4-Hers in completing their projects! We had so much fun and learned many life skills!

For the middle schoolers at the Northwest Region 4-H Challenge Camp, teaming up to play co****le, kickball and giant volleyball wasn’t just fun and games.

Life skills like first aid, dressing for success and cooking a tasty kebab were intertwined with friendly competition at the Clara Springs Camp and Conference Center in DeSoto Parish.

At the two-day camp, titled “Get in the Game with 4-H,” the 4-H’ers were meant to learn teamwork and cooperation — lessons they will need in high school, for careers and to build healthy relationships, said camp coordinator Destiny Hightower, an assistant 4-H agent in Claiborne Parish.

“You have to be a team player,” Hightower said. “You have to know how to work together and communicate. So, in a lot of our sessions, they’re learning important aspects of that.”
