Dear Colleagues: The Arkansas Department of Agriculture has proposed updates to the Veterinary Medicine Rules (17 CAR Pt. 1). In response, the Arkansas VMA appointed a task force to review the proposed updates to the rules and distributed a survey to our membership to collect feedback.

August 21, 2026, FROMM FAMILY FOODS of MEQUON, Wisconsin is recalling 3,852 cases of Fromm Turkey Pâté Wet canned dog food and 1,973 cases of Fromm Diner Classics Milo's Meatloaf Pâté Wet canned dog food due to potential metal contamination.

Proud to stand with Arkansas education! ✂️
ArVMA was honored to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new AState College of Veterinary Medicine alongside Governor Sanders, state legislators, students, faculty, staff, and supporters.
AState joins 1 of 8 universities in the nation with a College of Medicine and a College of Veterinary Medicine. A truly joyous occasion and a huge step forward for our state and profession.

120 students received their coats during Arkansas State University's inaugural veterinary class white coat ceremony, and ArVMA was there every step of the way.
President Sarah Shedenhelm gave remarks while President-Elect Dr. Kristie Coley assisted with coating. Several ArVMA board members were also in attendance as mentors and supporters.
Congratulations to the Class of 2030!🎉

Arkansas State University held a white coat ceremony Friday for the inaugural class of its College of Veterinary Medicine, marking the first milestone for 120 students beginning their veterinary education this fall.
